Your Thoughts
I re-learned that your interpretation of an event is all that matters at the end of the day. It’s so important to hold yourself accountable for that interpretation because it then dictates your mood which dictates how we treat others in our lives. Which can then lead to those in our lives reacting to how we treat them. It’s all one circle!

I learned that I am more compassionate and patient with other drivers on the road than I am with Gab. I’m more understanding with them. It’s like she has overflowed her threshold for my patience.

The biggest thing to hit me was how much more room I have to be compassionate rather than pessimistic. Thinking negatively about everything can really take a lot of energy, but letting things slide away and chalking the prompting event up to there being a good reason behind it takes so much less energy. Using that extra energy toward positive and worthwhile things, in my opinion, is the key.

We are talking about just telling ourselves a different lie to make ourselves feel better about the situation. Why can’t we get mad about the things that made us mad? Keeping a positive perspective doesn’t make us more positive, it’s just more lies to get through the day, but hey at least you went through the day with a clueless smile.
