Sacred Pauses
Always occurring in the background of our lives, we can snuggle up to our breath anytime we make a conscious choice to do so. A therapist, mediator and friend, our constant companion gives us a chance to pause. By interrupting the automatic responses and reactions of our conditioned mind, these sacred pauses give us the freedom to choose. Getting settled into an upright position, I took a deep breath into my belly. Pausing at the end of my inhale, my heartbeat became the only sound I heard. Exhaling slowly out of my lips, a rush of relaxation flooded my body. For a few moments after releasing my exhale I felt tingling sensations all over my body. What a purely delightful experience! Because I find myself reacting in ways that doesnโ€™t align with my higher self at times, breath before action is something I will continue to incorporate into my life. I realize that there will be times I resort back to those automatic responses and reactions. I am human, after all. However, I can begin again and again. Soon these sacred pauses will become a much welcomed and beneficial habit in my life. Thank you! Namaste ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโค๏ธโ˜ฎ๏ธ
