Quiet, Dark and Still
Yoga nidra is an ancient relaxation practice in which the body and mind are asleep, but we remain aware. By setting a sankulpa or intention while the body and mind are still, the practice of yoga nidra is extremely powerful in creating new ways of being, healing and overall well-being.
Getting settled on my bed laying on my back, I brought my awareness to the spontaneous waves of the breath. Witnessing the body riding the waves of breath, I called in my heartfelt intention for my practice. With this seed planted in the deepest parts of the subconscious mind, I turned my awareness to follow the guidance of the narrator’s soothing voice through different parts of the body. While I loved visualizing turning off the lights as I was guided through the body, I felt rushed to move to a different room in the body at times. I yearned to experience the room just a breath longer. Having said that, I enjoyed this yoga nidra. I am relaxed and calm in this quiet, dark and still house of mine and am grateful to turn in for the evening. Namaste 🙏🏻❤️☮️
