This guided meditation uses somatic techniques to work with physical pain. These techniques help shift the perception of pain and release any secondary tension.

Finding the opposite of pain..
I learned that the place opposite of the pain, the place where I felt peace and comfort in my body was a surprising location.. I need to reflect on that place, nurture that place of comfort, and begin coping with the physical pain by growing in understanding that place..

Method failure😝
If I think about a different part of my body that doesn’t have any pain, it’s supposed to help take my mind off the part that does have pain. My pain isn’t constant, but when it’s there, it’s really hard to ignore. But I’ve always found that deep belly breathing helps to take the tension out of my body, because tension just creates more pain. This meditation method didn’t work for me.

Oops

Breathing
I noticed that when I meditate I become way more in tune with my breathing. I track every breath I take and the way it feels and it brings so much comfort and relief.

Relaxing
I learned that a good way to relax for me is to make sure my forehead is flat. Wouldn’t have thought of that but it makes me relax my body

A new approach
This is a new and potentially very powerful approach to working with chronic pain and even migraine. I awoke in significant pain this morning, early this morning. I have an inflammatory type of arthritis and yesterday was a stressful day. So it’s not really a surprise that my discomfort would be higher than average on the pain scale. So, I used this meditation and feel some relief. Is there a chance a longer version of this meditation could be made available? Thank you.

Ehh
I felt distracted and sleepy. It calmed my anxiety and allowed me to focus on the sensations of my body rather than my thoughts that were troubling me

From painful tension into sleep
I have endometriosis and the pain often makes sleep elusive. Last night I fell asleep within moments of listening to this meditation and was able to stay asleep for hours. It was truly wonderful.

Too many injuries to list. Chronic pain for 18 years.
This at first made me feel completely lost on trying to find a single “comfortable” spot on my body. That was almost impossible for me, so I focused on just my pinky toe... Yes. That technique taught in this meditation does indeed work. With chronic pain? It obviously didn’t cure it, but! I’ll take an actual good technique for it, of course.

Day 15
I want to look more into somatic techniques. I feel like spending more time with this might be helpful because I regularly have at least some low level pain.

A Moment Away From Pain
This gave me a moment to focus strongly on the places in my body I don’t experience chronic pain, and enjoy a small respite when my attention isn’t on an injury or place of tension.

interesting
interesting to notice both at the same time. we are set up to focus on the pain as it is a warning and sometimes that can block our recognition of the comfort we can also experience simultaneously.

Pain
Lately my back has been hurting a lot. I focused on my back and my arms as the comfort zone. When I focused on both, my back starting to feel stronger. Found this very interesting, shows how strong our minds are.

Migraine
I worked too hard on my computer and got a migraine, then got a panic attack because I was scared I wouldn’t feel better in time to get my work done. Meditation helped a lot and took my mind off the pain so that the pain reliever could kick in.

Pain
I still don’t know how to process the physical pain I feel every day. I can’t write about it; I can hardly speak about it, even to my doctors. But I can feel it. For now, feeling it is the only way I can define it. For now, that is enough.

Pain is Good...Sometimes
With the everyday battles of physical pain I am trying to endure and overcome, I’ve learned that pain is not only associated with suffering. Feeling pain makes us humans, helps us realise that we are not invincible, and teaches us values more than we can ask for. So it’s okay that I feel and recognise these little tensions now and then, because pain, for me, signals that I’m still alive and still fighting and still trying to be the best version of myself that I could possibly be.

Sensation
🌬😌 The power of observing, feeling, and knowing the pace of your breath, the touch of the objects around you, the air that you inhale and exhale --- just pausing for a moment to appreciate the touch while feeling all these helps you grounded. 😊 😫😥😓Many times, we find ourselves in stressful situations where we must go, go , go; move, move, move-- not knowing when to stop nor how to stop... 🚗🚶‍♀️⛹️‍♀️⛹️‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ ⌛️ But just stopping for a moment, even for 3 minutes gives you a sensational feeling to reduce stress and therefore, reduce anxiety... 🧘🏻‍♀️😌
