It's easy to forget the simple joy in wishing another person well, and hoping for the same for ourselves - we get lost in stories of how it could be better, or we could be better, and forget the simple joy available to us in spreading well-wishing around us.

Just because I'm feeling good doesn't mean I shouldn't meditate
I woke up happy this morning, which is a blessing and I'm grateful but I found myself trying to then justify not meditating. It is not the purpose of meditation to make you happy when you are sad, it is definitely a part of it but not the reason. I struggle with self-critiquing and meditation is teaching me to acknowledge that to be present, I must let go of perceptions Im stacking upon my self and just allow time to fill each moment. I am enough right now.

I thought for this exercise is an akin soul I was with yesterday. What a wonderful sensation it is to share similar worldviews, sensations, experiences and feelings! I had a wonderful dream last night, and my energy is replenished today. I want to cultivate this friendship as a beautiful and rare flower that I want to keep alive forever.

I learned that wishing someone well is just that easy. No ill intentions, no anger, no expectations, no baggage of past arguments. This person brings a smile to your face - be a better person and bring a smile back to the person's face. Only kindness and gratefulness.

As I expanded this meditation out beyond my personal friend circle to include people I don’t actually like and then I continued until I visualized all people and wished them well. When I did this I felt a release within myself and a renewed sense of well-being.

I never realized the power that well wishing truly has but as I imagined my last visit with Janey my heart felt so happy, and so at peace picturing myself back with her experiencing such happy moments. I learned that there is a consciousness below my perceived consciousness - and these meditations are making me more aware of it. I started this meditation with a specific person in mind to wish well, and once it got going I found myself thinking of someone close to me that I have not spoken to in too long. My deeper consciousness reminded me to wish well to those I haven’t thought of in too long a time :)

Of course I chose to bless my beautiful loving wife, Jill, with my thoughts for wellness and happiness! After all, it IS her birthday today! As she lies here behind me in our bed I reached my thoughts out to her...as I have all day long! I learned that it’s important to wish well for ourselves and the important people in our lives. My family and friends mean so much to me and especially my best friend Morgan. She’s been with me through it all. All of my seasons of life and she’s seen the bad the good and the hurt I’ve had. She knows me better then anyone else. I call us soul sisters cause she truly knows me like the back of her hand and same with me with her! I am so grateful for a friendship like ours. I also thought of my husband and our marriage. Right now we’re not doing so well, we’re struggling so much.. so I spent a little extra time wishing well on him and us. I found this very important given the circumstances him and I are facing! I put my selfish feelings aside and figured it is important to do this even when we aren’t having the best feelings toward someone and still wishing them and us together well. This really helped and I will be practicing this more often! Great start to my Sunday ❤️🙏🏼

I am going through a very rough time in my life and as I wished for wellness an happiness for my dear friend it was sincere, but I also considered that there isn’t anyone out there who is vested in my own wellness and happiness. When I wished us both happiness, I was pleading with the universe for this to be. And now I am sad. Things I must confront and move through. Hard but necessary.

I learned that wishing others and yourself well is a powerful thing. Even if you wish them well in your head, it allows you to become comfortable with sending out consistent positive energy. If you go around in life wishing others well I believe subconsciously you believe others are doing the same; wishing you well silently. Therefore, on most days and at the very least, it will create peace wherever you go. I also learned that wishing someone you love well and happiness is a great stepping stone to wishing yourself the same message. I often put myself behind others, so this message is powerful.
