We can get caught up with all the things we should do, "I should buy a house, I should have this kind of job, etc". Many of us don't stop to reflect on what's truly important to us and how we want to spend our one wild precious life. In this session, we explore the most common regrets that people have and encourage you to think about how you want to live your life.

Response to Top 5 life regrets
I learned I relate to a lot of these things now. And think there’s going to be some changes coming, not all bad maybe (hopefully). But I pray for the courage to actually make the changes necessary. That will guide me to the happiness I know I deserve.

Satisfied so far...
I find that overall I am satisfied with the life I've lived/am living (so far anyway; seeing as how I likely already died several times in the last few years!😱) I have loved and AM loved. My main regrets revolve around the losses I suffered when I had my massive stroke, and the horrid aftermath I'm still living through. But I AM alive, so I am still here for my wife and children! That’s all that really matters now! I have been keeping busy attempting to reconnect to old friends from schools and churches I've been a part of throughout my life. Social Media has helped me be somewhat successful in this endeavour.

Happiness
Happiness is not a destination. It is an emotion or state of mind. We control our own happiness by the choices we make. Make the choice to prioritize the things you love. Not only will this make you happy, your happiness will promote positive feelings for those around you.

Insight
As things are at present, I know that unless I make some genuine changes in my life, I will have regrets. I am an empath and, as such, spend much of my time and energy experiencing the emotions and pain of others. I tend to put my own needs at the back of the line more often than not. I know that I need more self-care in order to experience more joy and fulfillment in my own life. I fully intend to incorporate self-care into my life as I continue to care for others.

Perfect timing
This is something that I needed to hear. I am having a trying time at work and this lesson put things in perspective for me. I know I need to make a few changes regarding work but have felt stuck, staying because it is comfortable even though the days are trying. Hearing these regrets has helped me see things differently.

Lost
I have been totally focusing on the wrong things in my life. This session was an eye opener for me. All of those epiphanies are all the things I want in my life right now, or have always been wanting. But, I tuck them all the way in the back of my head, because I focus on the things others expect from me. I am going to write them down and read each one everyday, to help me start refocusing on what I want for myself in my life.
B
Becca
Uncertainty
The epiphany I had the most difficulty with was living to the expectations of others. I have struggled with this my whole life trying to please all those around me and neglecting to bring my authentic self to the room. I constantly worry if I am “too much” to people to accept. I need to continue to reflect in order to begin to understand what I want for my life rather than what others expect me to achieve.

Appreciate these but not sure how to break out of them
I know I’ll have some of these regrets because I already do. I don’t know how to break free. It starts with work, but as more people leave and aren’t replaced, those who remain are continually expected to do more. Not sure how to break free. Finding another job isn’t the answer. It’s been this way in multiple positions I’ve had over the last 10 or so years.

Living True ⭕️🌟
”I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me....” This was the most common regret Bronnie Ware, who spent many years as a nurse in palliative care, heard. It reminds me of a quote from Shakespeare’s Hamlet: “This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” The speaker believes that a person must be loyal to their best interests first - then take care of others. Live true. Follow those dreams, take care of yourself first. Live a life that is true to yourself and then you will be able to better help loved ones and the world around you. ⭕️💕🌟

One year later...
I reflected on this practice one year ago. I find that what I wrote then remains mostly true today. My only real regrets in my life so far are failing to take better care of my health so I might have avoided the massive stroke which SO DRASTICALLY changed my life. But now, as then. I have loved, and AM in turn, loved. What more can a man ask for, really?

Regrets
While I could’ve predicted these regrets since I have a lot already, it’s still hard for me to live my life & speak my truth. It comes down to being afraid. As much as I want to be truly happy & fulfilled in life, I’m scared of the things I know I’d have to do, the things I’d have to say, the people I’d have to let go of & the fear of being alone. It’s a daily struggle for me right now & as much as I’m working on it, I’m still scared that nothing will change.
S
Sara
Looking back
I know I've made mistakes and know I can't change them. I can forgive myself and move forward and challenge myself to not fall into the same patterns, keeping a positive outlook going forward is all I can do. I try to wake up in the morning with a better attitude about the day and that still seems to be my biggest challenge. I am just not a morning person.

Looking Back
This is an interesting Life Coaching session in which we are to inspect our lives and see whether or not we have regrets. After hearing the top 5 regrets that people, whom only had 2 weeks left to live, I began to ponder into my own life. I think a lot of us put judgements on ourselves thinking that if we do not have a successful career, car, house and a family at a certain age, we have failed and therefore, are not happy. At one time in my life, I had even thought this! After my injury, I had lost everything of ‘value’ or so I thought. Because of my injury, I no longer have a successful career. I no longer have my own house to live in. Heck, I do not even own my own car anymore! So it is no wonder with this way of thinking, I was terribly unhappy for the first year of living with my mom! I had thought happiness was found within all of those things! According to those people whom only had a short time left to live, they had all wished that they sought the courage to live a life true to ourselves, not worked so hard that they missed what was important to them, having the courage to express their feelings, staying in touch with their friends over the years and allowing themselves to be more happier! The number 1 regret was not being more happier in their lives! At the end of our lives, happiness isn’t about materialistic things, such as cars, houses, so on and so forth. Sure, it is nice to have a nice car or a nice house, but it isn’t going to give us true happiness. Indeed, happiness is a Choice we can make each and every day! We do not need to wait until ‘whatever’ comes into our lives! Each and every day, I Choose to be happy and be grateful for what I Do Have at this point in my life so that I will not look back on my life with regret. Thank you for this great Life Coaching session! Namaste ❤️☮️🙏🏻😊

Hits close to home
This is a very timely session for me. Have been dealing with my dad’s Parkinson’s disease for almost 2 years and now my mom’s rapid decline due to dementia. While it’s hard to have substantive conversations with them now, I have noticed hints of these regrets in small comments. Now I am at a decision point as to whether I take extended time off work to be with one or both of them in their last months. The choice should seem obvious, but it’s surprisingly difficult, given my own goal of a fulfilling work life.

Living...
What a powerful story! Not surprising to me, but sad for many I am sure. Having always been a rebel or as my mom said in my baby book “ He seems to march to the beat of a different drummer!” She knew early I was not going to conform to the world but to the Truth. And that is what I have done most of my life. I do work hard, very hard, but I also play hard, sometimes very hard 🙄 Taking time off to be at my sons games was a priority when they were growing up. Being a Sunday School teacher for 15 years in order to have more & consistent time with them was important as was helping with their little league coaching. They are such fine, successful young men now so No regrets there. Still married to my first wife after 30 years who was able to stay home & raise our boys was a big key to all that happening. No regrets there either. But we went without a lot of the “nicer” things in life. Older cars, doing our own yard work & house repairs, vacationing in our backyard. I would say we had many happy times and made a lot of good & goofy memories. Those are some of the reasons I call myself TLMA! - The Luckiest Man Alive! I also know what we think about, we bring about, so I choose to think about being Lucky & how good my life is. Yes, things happen that many would label ‘bad’, but instead of focusing what was bad about it, I look for what possible good could come from it (& you can always find something good if you look close enough & with the right mindset). I try to live life from the point if I died today would I have any regrets. I can say no... at least not many, but I still have a lot more I would like to do. And that is where my focus is going for the future. Life is our choice & once you understand the Laws that control things you can make more Beneficial Choices & have fewer or No Regrets! ❤️☮️🍀

Stiff allover
I look at my life and I feel I missed out on having fun. I was and am always so serious. I wish I could be more loose and fancy-free. I want things to ALWAYS go right, and be right, and always do the right thing. I am so hard on myself. If I make a mistake I feel awful for the rest of the day. I feel I must always correct the wrong and a lot of times that thinking trickles over to my friends, family and loved ones. I don’t want to drive them away with my perfection . I want to be fun and relaxed!

Let go of regrets
I regret never telling anyone what truly happened to me as a young girl, internalizing me emotions became second nature as a single mom , no family here so I was not going to talk about my bad days to her ! It crept up on me recently and I’m filled with nightmares that sometimes paralyze me with fear and anxiety and I have to spend an hour calming myself quietly as I get the images (memories resurfacing) out of my head. I want to learn how to get the words out to a person I found I can trust bc that regret started the cycle of suppressing emotions to the mental health I’m in now.

Reaction to this audio
I feel very good and aware of real life problems humans face during their life. I’ve always been told that not being thankful for what you have can treat you wrong by making you very miserable. This audio helped me realize how many regrets pacientes shared I can change now for my life and make it more enjoyable. Also to focus on what I want to achieve as an individual an no what society may drive me to do. Focusing on my future, setting goals is something I believe will make me prosperous along my growth and make me as a whole a better persone! I loves this audio! Thanks!!

New Year: New Decade: New Me
I need to bring more positivity in my life. Leaving the negativity behind me. And truly allowing myself the opportunity to learn, forgive, and forget. It’s been a rough year for me. But I’ve learned so much. I want to go into this year with no regrets and no hard feelings for anyone. I want to truly have a fresh start. And I want to make this year so good for myself. I want to let myself be more brave and have more courage. Hoping this year can be full of new beginnings, positivity, and courage:) hoping

True regret
This has been very thought provoking. It has redefined what regret means to me. I have a lot of reflection to do. It’s shown me the things I’ve been expending so much energy regretting are things I can never change, but I can focus that energy on my current and future life. A life I very much want to be happy living in, finding myself, and my purpose again. I feel hope for my life again! Wow....!

Moving on
I learned that some people will selfishly Lie to you to only protect their name and not you're heart , I'm dealing with this problem so hard and this water breezing back and forth has me not thinking negatively towards that person who lied to me hurt me , mentally destroy my physical frame and not even care

I wish I had listened
I learned that I was too in tuned with fighting back the reality that as the days were going by so was my opportunity to grow mentally ,financially, physically, spiritually, cause I devoted my energy into a person I cared deeply for but lost interest in caring for myself when i was deeply falling apart ...now i find myself here alone while that person has got new friends, and is having a social life now meeting. New male & females while I totally poisoned my mind to the point where there's no more hope for me

Do you look back with regret
For me number five was probably the biggest one. We never know until the end that happiness comes from within. We are told it all our lives but I think we never truly realize until the end of our days that it really was up to us. You would think we would evolved by now, but the emotions of the human psyche is something that I don’t know if we’ll ever understand.

Finding myself
I learned that I have to start thinking more about myself and what I want to do in life. I should put myself first in line and focus on my happiness before I give advice and being joy to others. I shouldn’t be giving others advice if I’m not going to listen to my own advice. I should be proud of who I am and be great full for the life I have. I learned that I have to live everyday as if it was my last; to the fullest.

Stop should-ing all over yourself
A good friend said this to me recently, and it made me laugh immediately. We’re way too hard on ourselves. “I should...” is one of the most common cognitive distortions. It’s not about you when you say that. You’re not thinking about your needs and wants, because that’s how you would say it “I need...” or “I want”. And it’s okay (and expected even) to do things to meet others needs and wants, it is important to distinguish between what you need/want and what others need/want from you.

I learned that the way I am feeling lately is very accurate. Will You Look Back With Regret?
I have many regrets. I was never able to be myself because of my ex husband. I had to maintain an even strain for my children’s sake. Now that they’re grown and I’ve recently gotten a divorce I don’t think anyone cares who I am. I don’t know who I am.

Happiness/Regrets
I am thinking about how many of my life choices have been passive ones. Likely made because of what was expected for my life. I don’t regret those choices. But moving forward, I would like to take a more active role in my life. Where to begin...?
J
Jaclyn
What Jaclyn Needs.
I learned that I have so much to live for. I need to stop living for others and live for myself. God did not give me this life to always please others needs. He gave me this life to please my own needs, and occasionally please others needs after I please my own first. I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and stop saying that “I can’t do this, I can’t do that.” This pandemic has really taken a toll on the world especially my world. But I can choose to look at this pandemic in a negative way, or I can choose to look at it in a positive way. I’m choosing positive. I chose positive because this pandemic has allowed me to actually take care of myself. To start learning meditation and healthier ways of doing things for myself. I took a leave of absence from work, starting focusing on my mental, emotional, and physical health, and started to do things for me. Even though this pandemic is awful because of how many lives it took and is still taking, and how many businesses it shut down, I am extremely grateful for it because it gave me a chance to look at something that is so awful and turn it around to look at it as a blessing.
