Glass jar story
I learned that life is full with only the most important things like family and friendships and passions and it is just as full of you add pebbles (house, job etc) which fill in the gaps and still full of you add sand (the little things like exams, prep etc) which fills in more gaps. So again; all you need to have a full life is the big golf balls and pebbles and sand don’t really change how full your life is

Thought-Provoking Story Realization
I'm alone and bored today at our house. But guess what? Good thing I have listened to this! The story was a nice representation about life and the things that matter. It made me realize that instead of cursing about being at the present state, why can't I just take and thank this time because I can now have my Me Time? I can now use this time to develop my personal growth more through the internet. What a nice day it is! ✨

What is most important
Great life lesson we all need to put into practice. Take care for the big things in your life. Like your spouse, family, kids, friends, health and your passion. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Self care.
Self care can be challenging to say the least. With the weight of everyday life resting on our shoulders we some how forget to take time to care for ourselves, yes there is always time to let go of the small stuff and reflect. Just breathe, and let go. For we only have now not a minute more. Namaste sweet beautiful souls.

More important than .....
I love this. It just goes to show that we always fill our life with things that seem so important in the moment but after a while we realize that it’s not so important. That we could have put our more important things in life first.

Some things are more important than others
Sometimes I focused too much on small things, that when the important things come, they just can’t “fit”. Regulating everything in your life can just about save you when it’s time.

the important things
this story helped me realize what’s actually the most important in life. The story’s example of the golf ball is supposed to be all the important things like health, family, friends, and the things you admire most. The pebbles are all the other little important things that kinda help out with the golf balls. Then there’s sand, the things that don’t really mean that much but we focus so much on them and never actually have time to focus on the things that matter most.

K
Kay
Ugh. Heavy.
What I used to be “passionate” about is now only a job — a thing I’ve gotten pretty good at. In the process of trying to lighten that up, it’s filled more & more of the space between the big stuff (the golf balls of family, friends, pets) that —well—I really don’t know what will happen. I try to stay passionate so the job will at least rate a pebble’s worth of size, but it just makes more pebbles that grind against each other into sand, & push the golf balls out. I’m not allowed to have a beer, but if I was, I like to think the foam would fizz the small stuff out, leaving the golf balls behind.

I noticed
I noticed that I should be focusing on the big stuff like the golf balls I have clarified to myself what the big stuff are. it doesn’t matter what the Sand is it doesn’t matter what the pebbles are. that will come with time also remember distractions are out there and they are so only meant to do just that, distract you re-focus your mind on what you consider golf balls. The beer is what helps you realize how special you are. Take time away from the beer sometimes to focus on the golf balls. Though the beer isn’t that bad

Whats really matter
sometimes we spend so much time of our lives worrying so much about small things, petty things, that they end up taking over our lives. but life is much more than that. we have to give value to the things that really matter, that really add to us and make us grow, that make us happy and complete. Family, friends ... are things that we must give value, because the material things come and go, and it is precisely the family and friends that we have and will always be with us.

Jar with golf balls and sand
If we put the sand in first, ie focusing on the small things in life, we don’t have room for the golf balls, ie the more important things in life.
M
Mercedes
Family and Beer
Similar to the Weight of Water story, this particular one has the moral focus on what matters. However, this one shows that if you focus on the little negative things in your life (represented by the sand) there will never be room for anything else. So the important things in your life should be your family, your job, and making sure you have time to sit back and relax with your favorite drink in between. And if you focus on these things, the sand won’t even matter and that is the mentality I strive for.
J
Janet
My jar is full
I learned that we make our lives complicated by worrying so much with the sand and pebbles of our lives. Never interpret your pebbles as your golf ball because you may be carrying so much already and it might exhaust you in the end confused, end up having lesser golf balls with more pebbles and sands.

Worry
We worry way too much! If I would just let myself focus on the stuff that matters, all the other stuff will just fall behind it. That’s the only way to have peace and joy. I seek God first, then family then all other things can fall behind. It’s time to start living loved and in love enjoying life and stop merely surviving in stress.

Recipe for Happiness
1 Jar 7 Golf Balls 3 cups Pebbles 1 cup Sand 2 Beers 1. Set the jar in a safe place. This is your vehicle of life; it’s the only one you have. 2. Gratefully add golf balls. Take your time, as these are what matter most to you and fill your life with joy. Place them with discretion and forethought as they can break the jar; but without them life is empty. 3. Lovingly add Pebbles. These are what make the golf balls possible. 4. Respectfully, add sand, because in life, sand happens. It gets into the least expected places, but without it we’d have no pearls. 5. Finally, add the two beers. After all, there’s there’s always time for a couple beers with friends. ❤️ You’re welcome. 💋

What is important
I did not learn that my family, partner, or friends are important; I have always known that these people are important. However, what I did learn is that I need to back away from the small stuff. The small stuff is important in my life having a job and earning money is vital to my life, but it is not on the same level as my family, partner, and friends. If I fail to nurture those relationships all I will be left with is the small stuff, and honestly that would suck because the important stuff is what makes my life Happy. Ash

How many stories?
How many versions of this story exist here at Aura? Not that I mind hearing different story tellers presenting it, but I never seem to see my past responses in the attached notes! Anyway...I KNOW well which things are most important in my life! That doesn't stop me from striving for the more. The better. Even now, when all of my best-laid plans, those I've been working and striving toward so hard for so long are crashing down around my ears, I’m still striving and reaching! My wife, my children, are just TOO important to me to curl up in bed and give up completely! They're ”what’s most important”!

Life’s Story. This consist of putting all your golf balls in the jar first, which are the meaning of your family, friends and loved ones. Take time for this. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff
A gentle reminder for me not to sweat the small stuff: If you take care of the most important things in life, such as your family and your most trusted friends, no matter how stressed you are about your life, for instance, due to work and school etc., your life will always still be fulfilling. Your career, chores, duties etc are significant but not the most vital thing in your life; when the most important and fulfilling things in life has been taken care of, you may take care of your job. The sand is a metaphor for the smallest things in life such as your worries. Worries do not change the situation you are facing; in fact, if it takes so much space in your life, you cease to remember to live at all.

Life is precious, don’t waste it🌅
This is my favorite version of this story and I’m so glad I chose to listen to this as I start my day. It’s given me the best perspective on life in general and I started thinking about how last week, it bothered me that my house was cluttered and that I struggled at work with a relapse of back pain. I went to work everyday and tried to think positive thoughts such as, this is just temporary and it’s going to get better. Today, my back hardly bothers me at all, my positive attitude about what was going on in my life was really the best choice I could’ve made. Reflecting back, if I would’ve given into the situation, gone with the pain and the stress of having to work with it , it just would’ve been a waste of my precious life!🙏🌞

We have to learn to care about the important things. But I want to add that first of all we must recognize what is THE most important in your life, cause not always is the same in others.

Time and things
I realized that I am so caught up in little things such as success, wealth and not being a failure that i’ve pushed out the most important things like my family and my walk with God. This is not a religious story but either way it is eye opening!

What’s Most Important?
This isn’t the first time I’ve heard this philosophy. I love it and enjoy listening to it every time. It’s such a important and great lesson for us in life. Focus on the big things that matter(the golfballs) our family, our health, our spouse, God. The pebbles represent the things that matter but not so much like our car, house, job, etc. the sand is everything else all the small stuff. No matter what we must take care of the big things that matter before the small stuff. If we focus so much on the little things or the pebbles and sand then there is no room for the important things. The golfballs come first always! Everything else comes next or last. Enjoy time with your family, play with your kids, things like that. There will always be time to clean and go shopping or whatever. But the time doesn’t with the people that really matter or taking care of them is the most important. This was such a great remainder for me with some many things that I juggle and do! Great start to my day 🥰

Alright
I’ve heard this story before but slightly different. The other one had rocks Instead of golf balls and didn’t have beer. I liked this one more though. The other one I listened to after he asked if it were full I said no because you can still fit a liquid in between the gaps in the sand.

Priorities
I noticed how often I fill my jar with sand as the first step. Always starting in the wrong places, then getting worried, anxious, or tired by the time I have to focus on the golf balls. I learned that I must put the golf balls first, then add the pebbles and if I’ve still got enough energy I’ll pour the sand in.

Family
I learned and took away from this is that life may seem full and complicated. You may be stressed about work or school and try to do better. But sometimes you should just take time out of your busy day to be with your family. Even you don’t do your best in something but try and try but can’t your family will a,ways be there for you no matter how hard. Even if you have a lot of work you should take time to be with your family. They are number one in life. The support you and maybe spending more time can help relieve stress and realize how blessed and thankful you are. A family is someone who loves you no matter what. They care and love you.
