This morning meditation will help you turn toward quiet and focus on the sounds of silence. Close your eyes and find your focus, Train your mind on this thought for the day: What does true silence sound like, And how can you bring it your way? Is silence really silence, Or simply the absence of what we don’t want to hear? If we’re free from the sounds that trouble us, Do the noises that remain somehow change? Birdsong may not be silent, But it’s soothing and lovely on the ear. Blowing wind and rushing water calm us, As they carry us to a peaceful place.
