Intended to help us to embody mindfulness and deepen our practice, this Lake meditation differs from the majority of Mindfulness Meditations by using guided imagery: Rather than paying attention to our experience in the present moment, we imagine a scene that in some way expresses the nature of mindfulness, and then nurture these qualities within ourselves. Photo by Mark Harpur on Unsplash This meditation can be deeply calming and relaxing, so keep in mind the intention is to embody mindfulness and to deepen our meditation practice, and so if relaxation and calmness occur, let them be a pleasant bonus, rather than a state weโ€™re striving to achieve.

Beautiful meditation
Highly recommend but the instructions are not calm and they come too often instead of letting you experience the moment, it will be better when Iโ€™ll improve my skills.

Imagine
I am well acquainted with a lake like this and I always feel more peaceful there. The idea of imagining it when I am not there and even imagining I am the lake is great and definitely something I will add to my meditation repertoire. Thanks.

A gift of 15-minutes...
... to yourself! I highly recommend giving this 15-minutes to yourself. Honestly, I wasnโ€™t able to have the entire 15 to myself (without interruption), because I have 3 cats ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ & 2 dogs ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ• ...and itโ€™s morningโ€”and they are needy & a bit noisy in the mornings. But... rather than allow frustration to enter, I just went with it while I listened to the delightful man guide me through the lake meditation. And I spoke to my cats and dogs as they came up to me for some โ€œmomma-time.โ€ I gently spoke to them & petted them & cuddled them...as I listened. And Iโ€™ll listen to this one again, several times, under similar conditions. The point in this case being, Iโ€™m taking in the beautiful guided meditation even though morning life is intervening, but for me, itโ€™s an exercise in Allowing & Flow. โ€œContainingโ€ all which comes. Someday, no doubt, Iโ€™ll set aside a quiet afternoon, put on my noise-canceling headphones, and be able to experience this one without the various interruptions. And it will be so nice.

Quiet Place
I didnโ€™t think Iโ€™d get into the flow of this. But I was surprised. This took me to a place of peace. I could have stayed there indefinitely. I was at ease.

Tranquil and calm
I imagined myself at a lake I visit quite often. Stillness, reflective, and calm are the three characteristics I felt in this lake.
