Embracing yourself
Currently I’m reading “The Alchemist”, and I find myself on my own journey to seek a Personal Legend. It is easy to forget who you are and what you have along the way; however I need to keep reminding myself that my most valuable treasure is my authentic self, my soul that needs to constantly be nurtured.

Birthday Mountain
Listening to the mountain analogy on my birthday was quite relevant as I am very aware of my age today and the fact that I am still the same self inside even as seasons, events, others come and go. While my surroundings may change year to year, the mountain is still the mountain sitting quietly within and observing what happens around me.

More of a hill
It was hard to relate to a mountain, mostly because I rarely get to see any, but the nature metaphors calmed me down, as they usually do. Maybe I’m more of a hill than an actual mountain, but at least I’m one hell of a hill, despite the seasons around me.

There was a storm on my mountain all day until I realized even if there is a storm the mountain will always weather it and come back out as the magnificent mountain. Just weather the storm show your resilience and live in the moment.

I am a mountain
I loved her mountain analogy. You can imagine a strong beautiful mountain that expletives all seasons of the war but still remains unchanged. It has various visitors through the seasons making comments about it (it’s too hot, too cold, too cloudy, or I love climbing this beautiful mountain). Regardless of the comments made this mountain remains unchanged. This mountain is a great analogy for who we are. Be the mountain 🌄

Staying grounded
I learned that our minds stay the same and that the emotions that come are like seasons. One most not get lost in the season (emotion) because it is just temporary. I learned to not let my emotions move my mountain (mind) stay strong and remember my real self. Anxiety, stress or any kind of negative emotion can cloud people’s mind and respond unrationally and hurt people with love. I have been a victim of letting these emotions control my responses toward the people I love. Lashing out at them when they are just trying to help, meditating or giving yourself a moment to swallow that out lash you are about to strike and try to reason with yourself that is not your normal self. It is indeed the cloud of emotion or season that is trying to move your mountain. Stay firm, as I will do my best to stay a strong mountain, and remember it’s okay if sometimes it gets the best of you, just think of the the many times you have been able to endure through the season.

Be the Mountain
This one is much needed today: today is the day that we finally get our cat back from my mother, whom I haven’t spoken to since easter. The reason why is that she cause fights and throws massive fits about everything I do, even if it isn’t a wrong doing: for example, she has gotten mad and snapped at me for staying up late. Now mind you I’m a 25 married woman, who lives on her own, and we were moving across country and this was after a long night of traveling through the Louisiana swamp where she almost wrecked the moving truck twice. Her comment sounds out of place and bizarre but that is what I’ve been dealing with for a long time. However, this helped me understand that no matter what she does, or anyone else for that matter, I should stay strong in myself as a person and my actions.

Being the Mountain
I love the idea of letting stress pass by minimizing its importance. What I struggle with is being still through my stress. I try so hard to find a fix to the problems I think are causing me anxiety, not realizing that I’m actually trying to fix the anxiety itself. I need to work on letting go, accepting the discomfort, and embracing stillness.

Life coaching
Began with my usual resistance - not wanting life coaching while knowing it’s exactly what I need! That attitude was quickly replaced by the meditation - I loved it!! I was reminded of a childhood experience in Long Beach where we’d lived for several months. I walked out to go to school one day to see mountains in the distance that I’d never seen before. I was delighted and ran back inside yelling, “Mom, we have mountains!”

Mountain
This was quite a life-affirming meditation, relying on an image of a mountain 🗻 The mountain represents the ability of resilience and stability. Just being
The last three minutes truly helped me remember things come and they go. I love the outdoors! I was really able to connect with this one. I liked the reminders she put out about judgement and the seasons. No matter what comes the mountains way, it is the same mountain as before. The face of the mountain may change but the core is always the same. It took many years for the mountain to look the way it does today. Fires, storms, humans and all of the wonderful creatures that call it home. The ones who truly love the mountain for everything it provides. Even in the worst conditions the mountain remains a place called home for those who truly appreciate everything the mountain has and can provide. It truly made me think how much that is a lot like my life. People come and go, but always leave their mark. Our goals or focus may change but we are still the same person. All of the critters, well I look at those like my children! No matter what I face and how I feel all alone. All I need to do is redirect my attention to what matters most. To those that love me for just being me!

Stress Resilience
The mountain euphemism was pretty powerful when I thought about it, it resonated well with me. No matter what happens around the mountain, there can be blizzards, hurricanes, droughts, fires. The mountain remains. Stressors will come at you throughout your day, but that doesn’t change you, and shouldn’t change how you approach life. Remain constant, remains grounded, remain strong

I have CP and I am so scared that despite my experience and education no one will hire me because of my disability. Stress Resilience
I learned that stress is inevitable, especially in society now. We are go go, 24/7 and multitasking, etc. So stress is going to happen, that’s a given but if we are grounded and true to ourselves then we can learn to not let it effect us as much. We are going to face obstacles in life, tough situations, and face stressful moments. These moments are just tiny circumstances that don’t change us or define who we are. They won’t last, they are just a small season in our life. I really enjoyed the mountain enology. This really resonated with me. It is so true, in life we can’t let the things and stressors of this world effect or change who we are. We must stay true to who we are and overcome and get through them, take what they have to offer and learn and grow from them but never let them effect or change or move you. We must stay strong and grounded and not let them shake or break us, cause we are stronger then any stressor that comes our way. This was a great mediation for me to do with school starting back up and me being a full time mother, worker and mom and wife. I will be remembering and doing this mediation a lot 🥰🧘🏼‍♀️

Nothing stays the same forever. The seasons change, the environment changes, the people change. Even the mountains change from time to time, through weathering and erosion. The process happens gradually, but it happens nonetheless. Needless to say, one can adapt to these changes. Change doesn't necessarily mean bad. It just means what it means. Different. You just learn more about these changes and adapt. It might be rough in the beginning. It may seem impossible even. But it's not going to be that way forever.

Mountain meditation
Well, I was actually thinking about the mountain meditation when I was writing my journal. I was thinking about how other people treat me sometimes and how that affects my mood for the rest of the day. I am realising now that I am a mountain and people can be and do whatever they want, I will still be a mountain. What people say or do reflects their personal struggles, and is none of my business, because I am a mountain, I have my values and I stay true to them.

10/25 reflection
During the session, I noticed that I have a crave to bring my attention back to myself. I can imagine and picture how I am when I successfully do that. In that imagination I am sure of myself, goal driven, and feel strong. I want to form my own ideas, I want to be able to talk about my view points on life. I want to be less harsh and depressing on my view points. I know that I feel so sad inside which caused me to feel that way. This led me to thinking… what are some of the things that my mom has affected me with?

What a great imagery or image to keep in my mind when times get tough the idea that my core my mountain stays the same all these trials, tribulations and joys will come and go like to seasons on the Mountain but the mountain itself stays. Perfect I love it. I think this will be very helpful for me.

Breathe... just breathe
I was aware of my breathing and trying to regulate my breathing, of inhaling and exhaling. And listening to the sounds of nature reminds me that I need to... no, that I want to be out in Nature more than I have been... another place where breathing is important.

New job stress
Wow it’s been a while since I’ve felt totally overwhelmed and stressed by what’s a priority and what needs to be done by the end of the week. I need to figure out a working strategy with Leslie that meets her needs and allows me to be productive. Right now it feels like everything is urgent so i need to better understand what takes precedent in order to make this work.

Monday 7th December
Mountains stay as they are, moving with the weather. Sometimes people find it too tall, too windy/snowy, not enough flowers etc. We are like mountains, people can have judgement but it’s their intake, not ours. We can accept ourselves for being human, and be mindful. I am enough, and I move through the seasons/challenges as a mountain does 🥰

The mind will run
I have no feet no legs or toes. I’m with you everywhere you go. Some say I’m in the heart some say I’m in the thing behind your nose. I love to relax but I also love to run fast. As your mind runs you chase after it attempts to slow it down might be useless at first but with repetition you will cut off it’s feet and it can’t run from you unless you give it feet again…. Day 1

I learned that emotions are temporary though the emotions we feel do hold substantial value in the core of our being. That emotion that we felt will be a reminder for the next time we feel again and will make us stand still and guard ourselves and emotions next time we experience them

The mountain
When I am stressed I will think of longs peak from far away. I will bring myself to the moment of gratitude towards the beautiful earth. The mountain goes through many stages of life but is always there. It does not conceive judgement from others. It is always beautiful.

Mountain
I learned that I am a mountain and no matter the judgement or seasons a mountain encounters it just stays there unbothered. Just like me. No matter the judgement or seasons I go to it won’t affect me because I don’t give the people power to affect me. I am a mountain.

I like the mountain metaphor.
Mountains dgaf what people think. I should close my eyes and pretend to be a mountain.
M
Michelle
The mountain metaphor is a great way to think of things. Draw from it’s strength and how’s it’s strong in every season no matter what is happening around it. Love that.
I can focus and meditate on the mountains I know as a way to de-stress and draw from their strength.
M
Michelle
I love the idea of focusing on the mountains I know and drawing strength from them. Mountains remain strong no matter what is happening around them. gd
I can De-Stress by thinking of the mountains I know and remember and stay Centered on their strength. I can be like a mountain in a moment of stress.

Self portrait
I’m using art therapy as a non threatening way to understand my emotions and my neurodivergent brain. This gave me an idea to do a self portrait as a mountain. I think seeing myself as a mountain (as opposed to a broken bicycle in a rain storm) will be a tangible healing experience.

It was calming, envisioning mountains, deep breathing.

Mountain analogy stuck with me
I love the mountains and had a significant experience on a hiking trip with an ex significant other that disconnected me from my love. Viewing myself as the mountain is perfect for me right now because I’ve been so stuck in the past and worried about others, that it’s time I give myself the attention and appreciation I deserve.

Mountain analogy
I love the Red Rock mountains of West. During this meditation, I imagined the different layers of the red rock, created by the many years of weather. The layers Within the mountain are similar to the layers I’ve earned from my different life experiences. They leave you beautiful and majestic.

I felt stressed when I am thinking of what need to be done on the agreements . I felt that I am at other people mercy and they don’t like me.
What I learned that I am a mountain . Pp may have different opinions about me . I am not what other pp think I am . And I will go through 4 seasons and repeatedly. Life will be okay . I don’t need to control or alter what is happening
A
Ali
I liked the thought of how authentic a mountain remains through every season
I learned that my personal reaction to current stressor, is unhelpful but something I can take control of.

Strength
I felt a sense of strength. I am me. A mountain that never changes. Seasons come and go, but I will always remain. I must love myself. Mind, body and spirit.
