This is a micro-practice to help soothe the nervous system. It also includes a practice of relaxation in the service of working with resistance and contraction. The aim is to soothe the nervous system, and leave you feeling more centered, grounded, calm, and expanded once again.

Calming
I learned that I have control of my nervous system enough to calm it enough to allow myself to rest. Breathing awareness can be relaxing and helpful for sleep as well as understanding my mind and body. Go me! Thank you, Rueben!

Simple yet effective!
I found this session very helpful. There wasn’t too much pressure put on doing it a certain way but plenty of guidance. I feel calm and centred, ready to start my day!

Calm
We know what we need to do but almost never set aside time to do these mindfulness or quieting exercises. Wonderful to have this help, thank you! I just took a work break to do this and I feel refreshed.

Calming and soothing
I learned that through focusing on becoming touch more gentle with my breathing - especially focusing on the out breath / that it can calm my nervous system and the effect is beautiful. I would love the clarify if the out breath is through the nose or more though. Please clarify this for this mediation session. Thank you!

Softly breathing
It was hard to focus on my natural breathing without alternating my breathing. If that makes any sense. However, towards the end I was able to allow my body to breathe and focus on softly breathing

Soft out breath
Amazing how a simple suggestion can provide such a sense of peace and fulfillment

Soft Outbreath
I liked the idea of just focusing on softening the outbreath rather than trying to count the inbreath/outbreath, which I always find distracting and too mechanistic. But just focusing on softening results in a longer outbreath which achieves the same thing but feels more natural.

Calm and peaceful connection
I woke up at 3am and couldn't fall back asleep. Reuben's voice and instructions were so gentle, loving and kind. It felt delicious to be connected to my breath by a gentle awareness that filled me with peace and awe.

A gift of relaxation
I went in with no expectations, just something to unwind from the day. And it was such a gift to fall into such a relaxing state. Thank you

Lacking…
This was more ‘advanced’ (for me) than I was able to appreciate from the title & Intro. That is, I kept awaiting & awaiting instruction on the breathing to level-down my breathing. However, it was assumed. I would suggest ) for folks similar to me (I am quite green), either have much more concrete guidance. Or a forewarning of: “Hey, this is for advanced!” Thank you for trying to give the world just a bit more presence 🖤

Illness
I notice during my illness that I have a hard time remaining positive. I think of the worse outcomes and my mind goes to a dark place. My anxiety is so bad that I can’t even think straight. I feel utterly alone when I go through this. Trying to pray to God for comfort and healing.
