Here we practice tracking positive sensations that may be associated with fond memories, favorite places, or loved ones to get a sense of what comfort, safety and joy feel like in our bodies. This can be a resource, a safe space to come back to when using somatics to address pain or trauma. We don't want to feel overwhelmed when doing this work and want to remind ourselves that we're safe, so we can come back to these positive memories, feelings, and sensations when we need to.
