Focusing on something specific helps
I truly enjoy meditations where the teacher has us focus on one part of our body. This is great practice which I can carry with me into my day. Linda is easily understood and has good volume. Easy for my ears to hear her. I especially enjoyed her validating the experience of differentiating between pain, numbness, as just sensations and not to be owned by the feelings. A good session.

Awareness of the Feet versus Full Body Scan
As Nick said, this meditation focuses on only one part of the body, the feet. It's a good idea to focus solely on this part. Why? A meditator can sometimes get overwhelmed when doing a complete body scan. For me, with other body scans, it seems that I just get accustomed to focusing on one section, or part of the body, and then, I abruptly have to fixate on another part. By simply gravitating attention to the feet, I am able to get more out of the meditation so I feel more calm and mindful as a result.

It was a good reminder that ruminating about feelings over and over can be unhealthy, and that grounding in your body can bring some perspective on this. Emotions can be heightened at holiday times, meditation and mindfulness are even more important.

It was interesting to focus on the sensations in the soles of my feet since, due to neuropathy, that is exactly the area of my body that loves to draw my attention. But to my surprise, I found this practice to be refreshing and I will try it again...especially when my feet are “screaming” at me. I have learned that mindfulness and meditation are quite helpful in calming the Central Nervous System. Thanks again, Lyndi. 🙏🏻
