When you're feeling stressed or anxious, everything seems to be moving quickly: thoughts race through your mind, and your heart may feel like it is going to explode in your chest. In this meditation, you'll intentionally slow down the breath, and then check in with your thoughts and your heart rate to see if they have also slowed. www.christina-mcmahon.com

Thoughts are just that
I learned to pay attention to what I am thinking and what it means to me and slow my thoughts and analyze them to tell my self it's just a thought don't get stuck with that

Relax
It's good to just relax and take the time to distance yourself from what has happened, and to focus on yourself for a moment.

I enjoyed this session by learning how to comfort myself. How to hug myself and feel good about
Myself. Taking the time to remind myself how to feel comfortable. Thinking positive thoughts.

Responding vs. reacting
I, on occasion, am very reactive, usually when I'm caught off guard. I need to remember to "slow down" as it accomplishes nothing to react.

Anxiety
I can practice on my heart rate to slow my inner self down! It's ok to have my though but anxiety stops me understanding them.

Slowing down does work
Slowing down does help me get my thoughts in order. When I start to get anxious and stressed everything starts moving really fast. This helped me curve some of that.

breathing
i learned that we don’t exactly have to stop thinking about all the problems we have. our problems cannot go away just like that, so wishing them to go away won’t work. just take deep breaths to calm us down and from there we can try and solve them.

Focus
To zoom in on a little piece of the problem helps to understand it better

Today I learned
that meditation is not about silencing the mind, but rather to increase the gaps between thoughts, so we can respond to them with wisdom instead of relying on instinct and emotion.
S
Sam
Today I learned ...
... meditation is not about stopping thoughts or clearing the mind completely. It is about creating space between the thoughts so we can respond with wisdom. We are neutral observers of our thoughts which helps slow them down and help give us clarity.

Slowing Down
Looking at my life's problems/issues/stresses by taking an " outside looking in" approach is a wonderful way to not take so many things personally;to worry less. Great strategy for me! Loved this one!!!

Take a step back and relax
I learned that I just need to slow down and take time to look at what’s going on inside my mind, heart and body. Experience how I’m feeling, take a step back, relax. It’s gonna be okay...

🌹Take♥️ Action🌺 Slow♥️ Down🌹
This one is probably the most important one of all. We all daydream and wonder about how better our lives could be "if..." Well, the ones who act on those dreams are the ones who have success. Everything else is for naught if you don't act. I like the way I feel with this meditation.

Listening to my heart
I started pretty anxious, my thoughts were rapid between daydreaming and planning. Just listening to my heart and noticing the tightness in my chest then breathing through it made a world of difference. Once I looked at my thoughts as clouds passing by it comforted me.

Slowing Down
The purpose of meditating is to become more mindful of our thoughts, not to get rid of them, but rather acknowledge and provide more space between them to bring wisdom. Understanding this will help me to be more mindful.

I learned that it is important to slow down my thoughts and acknowledge them
I have been suppressing them to encourage myself to let go. This is not working it is just prolonging the issue. Need to deal with it

Slowing Down
I learned that in order to stress less and calm down I don’t need to dismiss my thoughts but be more aware of them and slow the rate that they are coming in so I can accurately and consciously think about them.

Not that helpful
I am not so much a fan of the meditations that assumed that you were under stress right this second. Stress is sometimes a lifetime condition, and particularly stressful moments are not usually the perfect time to run to my meditation chair.
D

I particularly enjoyed this meditation. I get much
Chest tightening and it worries me. I have been to the cardiologist 3 to 4 times. Nothing wrong every time. I also liked the voice and reassurance that all is well and meditation is a process. Just wish I knew how to find this again as my mind was doing a bit of wondering.

Noticing your breath can help you notice whether your thoughts are racing.
I learned that becoming aware of your internal breaths can help you become aware of the speed of transition between your thoughts. Thus, when I need to calm my thoughts, I will try and continue to slow down my breath.

Star
I saw a star above the hill top, sitting so prettily, the steady rain blurred its outline but yet it shined through. I see a shadow just beyond the light, though blending in it still stood out enough to be noticed. Step out of the shadow, shine through the rain f not now, when - don’t live a life of regrets and what ifs. Listen to your heart, feed your soul with gentleness and love, live the life with wonder in your eyes and wisdom in your soul.

Wow
I’ll have to be honest with myself,i’m going through life with a rush in my steps,a rush in my thinking..but i think it’s okay to slow down,it’s okay to remember the baby steps we all learned from, maybe it’s time to re do them.right? I mean those steps were the happiest moments in all our lives..I’ll do my best to remember that and just simply take nice and smooth.

Hiding from my thoughts
A lot of times I get frustrated with myself because I allow the stress that comes into my life to rule my thoughts. Practicing slowing down my thoughts and acknowledging that they are there brings me a sense of calmness because I don’t have to push them away and hide from them

I’m stressed. Very stressed
Medical school apps are here and I am struggling to keep up with the secondaries. I catch my head worrying so often about the future and what comes next. It’s scary. It’s frightening. But I want to accomplish it and get it done. Meditation allows me to slow down my mind and breathe to hopefully work with a clear mind.

Slow Down Your Thoughts
The goal of meditation is not to stop our thoughts but to widen the gap between our thoughts. We don’t want to react to our thoughts harshly but with wisdom.

Massaging Your Organs
Before starting this meditation, my mind was caught up with my to-do list which today some things are taking longer to accomplish than other things. I was feeling a little overwhelmed. Even though I know I have plenty of time to complete what I need to do. Christina starts out this meditation with checking in with how your chest and heart rate are feeling. Acknowledging that feeling and then proceeding to take in a slow deep inhale which is providing nourishment for your body. Then slowly exhaling providing a mini massage for all your organs. I liked that thought. After doing this a couple of times, Christina has you check in with your thoughts which immediately my mind went back to my to-do list which I felt anxious for a moment. Then switched my thinking to I have plenty of time. All will work out which brought me back to the present moment. At the end of this meditation, you check in again with how your chest and heart are feeling. I am feeling relaxed and centered. I will definitely be revisiting this one.🙏
