Meditation for overthinkers
For the storm you can't stop, or the one still over the horizon. Storms don't ring a bell to warn you. Most of us fight them and wear ourselves out, or brace and wait for them to pass, and both leave nothing in the tank. This meditation offers a third way. Bring a storm to mind, then picture yourself in a big, wise armchair, steady while the storm does what storms do, like the person at the end of the bar in the films who finishes his drink while the fight breaks out around him. Wisdom is realising we're in control of very little. You can care and still not engage. Three wishes to finish. May I be steady even when I cannot be calm. May I be kind to myself in the middle of it all. Music underneath.
