Dropping off to sleep is really about letting go and allowing it to happen...this practice is all about allowing your body to sink into the bed and let go completely, allowing natural sleep to come to you.  Useful whether it's go to sleep or go back to sleep if you wake in the night.

Sink Deeply into Sleep
As we prepare your bodies and minds for sleep, Jiva reminds us to feel the sensations of support that the body is receiving from laying on the bed. If thoughts begin to wander, as they most definitely do especially when we are trying to unwind at night, acknowledge them and then allow them to sink along with the body into the comfort of the bed. There is no place I need to be right now. Therefore, I allowed my body to just be in this moment and feel every part of my body being supported by the bed. What a relaxing feeling! Those comforting sensations made me feel safe, calm and peaceful. My thoughts have quieted. My eyes are getting sleepy. I am ready to sink deeply into sleep. 😴 Good Night!

Sleep is your happy place
I feel that sleep is important but is also relaxing. It is calming to find yourself in a deep sleep. To me sleep is my happy place the one place I can be free. Let go. It’s like your in the clouds, your free. Or you are a wild horse, running freely through valleys . Sleep makes me feel safe.

I noticed that I did not trust the bed to support my arms. I was not able to let them sink into the mattress. It was as if they needed to fly off the mattress.

By acknowledging the tension in our body we can easily release it because it is not serving us any longer. I felt a lot of tension in my eyes and eyebrows and was able to relax my muscles. It is nice to focus on where your body is supported on the bed.

My mind is alert, I need to get up and move, the meditation was very relaxing but my body feels primed, hungry and angsty, I don't think I ate enough yesterday, luckily it's a Saturday in lockdown, relax and sleep later, hopefully
