The Breath
The point of Sati or mindfulness is to bring awareness to ‘what is’ in this moment, without judgement. In this first part of a three part series, Dorothy has us bring awareness to our breath and to the places in our body where we feel our breath as a way to relax the body and calm the mind. After settling in my chair, I inhaled, paused and noticed how it felt to inhale. Then, I exhaled, paused and noticed how it felt to exhale. Resuming regular breathing, I noticed how each of my individual breaths were unique. Noticing this gave me a newfound appreciation for each of my breaths. Then, I became aware of the places where I felt my breath in my body, most notably in my belly, chest, nostrils and mouth. Noticing these areas of my body gave me a newfound appreciation for each of these areas of my body. By becoming aware of our breath, we can open a door, a portal if you will, to experience our higher consciousness, our Being, and it is in this place where we can find peace beyond all understanding. It is within this peace beyond all understanding where we find our body relax and our mind calm. Namaste 🙏🏻❤️☮️
