Times are tough, and weird, and confusing. But I want to help you find the inner strength to make the most of these unique times and rise to the occasion.

I feel the same way
Hang in there! I’m feeling the ill affects of social isolation as well and it was reassuring to hear someone acknowledging it. We can’t all be redecorating our homes, etc.
Thank you for making this so relatable. It is nice to know people are thinking and feeling the same way. It’s one thing to hear it from your spouse but entirely different to hear it from an outside source. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
Staying Strong 💪
Excellent suggestions from Shelley on how to move through this difficult time which will empower you to feel some control over what is going on right now. 1. Staying Healthy- Making your health a priority by feeding your body what it needs. Right now with my hubby being home I am cooking all the time providing healthy meals. 2. Self Care- Making self care a priority helps to build resilience against stress and keeps your cup full. Last week I could feel the effects of getting off my routine of daily exercise as well as my morning meditation time along with journaling. 3.Projects- Shelley mentions this could be a good time to take some online classes which she says there are free ones out there. Or maybe tackle some of those things you have been wanting to do but never have time for. 4. Volunteering- Helping out your community is a wonderful way to help you feel like you have some control over what is going on. You can do this by offering to delivery groceries for the elderly or sick to their doorstep. Offer free child care to those who are working. 5. Self Isolation- If you are having a hard time with this, Shelley recommends taking a look deeper into why you are feeling this way. Could it be social interaction is a distraction on actually dealing with some unresolved issues or feelings? If so, it would be beneficial to your health and well being to start to work through those things. And, if you need a therapist there are plenty of online options to look into. Also, with having so many ways now to stay in contact with one another, organize a group chat with friends and family. The world will never be the same again once we come out of this. However, we do have the power to come out of this stronger and healthier than before. Let’s be the change the world needs right now to renew itself.
Rising to the occasion
I noticed that I sort of perked up and felt ready to take the next step in my day. For me that is getting dressed and making my bed and starting a new project
So glad I’m not alone in this. Thank you for bringing some clarity into my life.
Great reminder!
Loved this! A great reminder as I have been struggling with feeling sorry for myself with things not working out as I hoped as a result of this time. My troubles definitely are small in comparison to many. Those that have gone before have shown so much strength and come through tough times. Thank you for this reminder. It’s not the situation, it’s what you do with it. Thank you! 🙏

While I agree with almost everything she said (and she certainly said a lot at a very quick tempo) and have been doing most of it already, I do not consider this a meditation as much as an audio blog. I am typically a positive person by choice, but I started to feel very negative during her telling us how bad her life was. She finally acknowledged it & went on to give every suggestion she could think of (or had learned from someone else) to help someone thru these incredible times. I come to Aura to experience a meditation, connect to the Source, expand my mind, to support others, to gain feedback and to learn various breathing techniques (poor Shelly seemed to almost be gasping for breathe a couple times she was talking so fast) but not to hear a rambling blog that I can get on the internet. Sorry for being the negative nelly in the room today. I am just curious as to why this one came into my life this morning when I was hoping for a good, strong meditation. Hopefully by the end of the day I will know and be grateful that it did... 🙏🏼🤨🍀
You can do more than you know
Stepping up to face certain kinds of challenges is not optional. This is one of those times, yes, like WW2. We will do it, because there really is no choice to do otherwise. Our individual situations vary. Everyone has troubles right now. So everything we do will require extra kindness. Draw upon the compassion reservoir. My mom had brain cancer, too. Wishing your family all the best. Stay well. Carry on. Reach deep. The capacity you need right now, is there.
Lots if ideas
I really enjoyed hearing about her grandfather, his thoughts on "the greatest generation" and what he would do if alive during this time. I also really enjoyed all her ideas, both big and small, to do during this time.
