In our fast-paced, constantly connected world, it's easy to develop unrealistic expectations for ourselves. We strive for perfection in every aspect of our lives, but this is an impossible goal to achieve. When we strive for perfection, we set ourselves up for disappointment. We compare our lives to the airbrushed images we see in magazines and on social media, and we come up short. We beat ourselves up for not being thin enough, successful enough, or happy enough. But these are all arbitrary standards that have nothing to do with reality. Rather than living our lives in pursuit of an unattainable ideal, we can learn to let go of our perfectionism and reprogram our thinking.
