This meditation offers you an opportunity in meditation as well as in life to be in touch with the changing intensity and content of thoughts and feelings within the vast reservoir of awareness itself that resides below the surface of thought. The pond offers us this lesson as it reminds us of the reflective pond within ourselves.

Pond meditation
Thank you for this beautiful meditation Cindy. Sometimes visualization of a mountain can seem daunting. Mountains are so large and awe inspiring that it can be more difficult to envision ourselves as a mountain. Now a pond is simple, common and unassuming. Just like us ordinary people. Reflecting its surface and feeling connected to its simplicity is so much easier. I really feel this meditation will be useful and wonderful to come back to. Try it everyone!

Calming ๐ŸŒŠ
This reflection provided a quiet, peaceful, calming 12 minutes. I have always had an affinity for lakes and ponds; my favorite childhood years were spent living on a lake. Besides all the fun of swimming and ice skating, what I loved most was the fact that the lake was ever-changing and yet always the same. This meditation, in my humble opinion, did a good job of reminding the listener of the ever-changing qualities and yet the peaceful nature of a quiet reflective pond. ๐Ÿ™โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ™

Reflecting...
A pond is still until some disturbance, such as wind blows on itโ€™s surface and creates choppy waters. However, deep down underneath the surface, the pond remains untouched. In this calming meditation, Carla-Jo has us visualize ourselves as a pond and take note of the ever changing thoughts, sensations and emotions that arise on the surface of our being, without judgement. Visualizing myself as a pond, I took note of the scenery around me. Every so often, a bird would land on the surface, creating gentle ripples on my surface. Every so often, a gust of wind blew, creating some choppy waters along my surface. Acknowledging these occasional disturbances by being an observer, I allowed them to be until eventually, my surface was calm once again. Every so often, I noticed there were moments in which no disturbances occurred. It is within these moments where I found myself so still that I could see my reflection. Seeing my reflection so clearly from the depths within to my surface, I am filled with a magnificent peace. We can learn a lot by visualizing ourselves as a pond. Some moments we may find our surface having choppy waters. Some moments we may find our surface having gentle ripples. Some moments we may find our surface so still that we are able to see our reflection. Learning to go with the ebb and flow of life like a pond, we can be untouched deep below our surface no matter what disturbances may come. Namaste ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโค๏ธโ˜ฎ๏ธ
