Feeling distracted? Busy mind? Noting helps us to focus on and define our experiences, and to let them come and go.

Strong thoughts & feelings
I struggled letting go of my thoughts & feelings. Our marital home should have been put on the market weeks ago. Today was spent trying to understand why it still wasn't listed. This was after I couldn't get into my home for warmer clothes. So I joined a singles club in response to my frustration. Somehow my brain was so focused on this, I couldn't concentrate on breathing. Even when I noted. Well tomorrow is a new day.

Noting
Just labeling the act of thinking 'thinking' can help me get back on track to breathing. I don't come across feelings yet. Just lots of thoughts.

This practice helped me by naming my breath work, thoughts, and feelings throughout my meditation. By doing so, I was able to come back to my breathing more easily when I became distracted. Thanks, Lyndi! Namaste 🙏🏻.

Just taking a breather
The focus on the breathing is really helpful for me. Since I've started this my lungs seem healthier. I have COPD and the constant exercise and awareness of each breathe really seems to help.

Subconsciously slipping
Often I slip into daydreams that interfere with my day. Maybe noting “thinking” or “feeling” will help me snap back to what I need to do.

Great technique for those who are easily distracted.
I liked that while you were able to note the physical sensation of breathing the narrator also included the opportunity to label distractions as thinking and/or feeling. It’s one way to get you quickly back on track. The other importance I find is that it continues to allow me to practice putting distance between my thoughts and feelings. I’m not either one of those things but rather the observer. I also like that it gives me the opportunity to distinguish quickly between thoughts and feelings. It’s useful as I explore how my thoughts cause my feelings.

Distraction
This is a good exercise to help with focus....over time with noting distractions one can retrain oneself to stay more focused by acknowledging the distractions and returning to the focus....my mind tends to wander a lot and this is very helpful.

Noting... or nothing?
Based on the description and reviews, this meditation seemed perfectly tailored to alleviate my symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder... after trying it, I felt like I needed something with more focus or direction. In my other “noting” exercises, I was encouraged to describe in detail, with many adjectives, how or what I was feeling (internally and externally) which helped distract me from the negative thoughts by acknowledging and focusing simply on the facts. This meditation simply said to “breathe” and “think.” The long silent pauses also made me think the meditation was over when it wasn’t. Sorry, but this just wasn’t enough for me and left me wanting much more.

Perfect for a Friend
I think this meditation is perfect for people who are scared of meditation or think that they’re doing it wrong. I also think it’s perfect for experienced meditators. It’s some you can do at your desk for a moment. It’s the meditation you can start off with when you haven’t been meditating for a while.

Is it bad that I just dont have the ability to focus anymore? I just push my thoughts away that I think do not pertain to me. God I sound just like a poem I ready at school about being hypocritical about my surroundings and to others.

Talking to yourself
Often in meditation I try really hard not to talk to myself. I guess that can be described as thinking, but as this exercise shows, you can talk to yourself to focus and prevent divergent and distracting thinking. I really enjoyed this method.

Taking note of what ever you’re thinking or feeling is almost as if you’re calling yourself out. You’re bringing attention to what is going on and when you do that, you’re able to have more control of how to handle it. Taking deep breathes really does help when you take note of what is going on inside you.

First meditation
I find it hard to focus on what I am guided to do, and hard to even focus on what my thoughts get distracted to think about. I was very anxious before I began about ridiculous things like freak accidents and death, and that happening to me, and me not living my life to the fullest. This meditation provided very brief and fleeting distraction and relaxation from that. I hope to get better at this.

Distracted
Today I was distracted and stressed, thinking about anything and everything. Throughout school I found myself being hyper to a point at times, and then crashing, and being super tired. There were no changes in my health that could have caused it, just an off day. That being said there are things in my life to be stressed about, grades, softball, etc. but there are also things, many things to look forward too :)

Take a breath
