What is mindfulness? It is a question asked by many since it began to grow in popularity over the last decade. Mindfulness is most commonly defined as: 'The basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are & what we're doing, not to be overly reactive or overwhelmed.' However, Mindfulness is more than a basic ability, it is something that must be practiced with patience & self-compassion. Mindfulness is an attempt to focus on a single action or state, not in the past or in the future. It is the art of Being Here Now. Mindfulness is also a great tool for feeling more connected with yourself & your surroundings. Mindful listening is a beautiful way to deepen relationships, or simply drink a cup of tea with full awareness.
