Valuable practice
Clear and helpful guidance for a meditation I always find both rewarding and challenging. Becoming an impartial observer is never easy, remaining in that space is even more difficult while the labels and stories pop up! Thanks

Lovely invitations
1 "... noticing the textures of sounds ..." - an especially interesting suggestion. 2 "... seeing if you can be an impartial observer" - something to keep working on, but impartially! Many thanks.

Calm and Steady
The steady drone of the attic fan was wonderful for helping my attention stay where it was supposed to be.

Listening helps a lot
Focusing on something as concrete as sounds allowed me to stop the rumination for a little while. What a relief!

The peace in letting go
Letting go of the state of wanting and not wanting is a very blissful space.

Listening
I learned that'l it's important to allow thoughts to come and go as they please.

I learned to think of the texture of sounds which I will continue to notice throughout my day today.
I heard a car on the road and pictured the texture of rough travel or smooth rubber.

Let go
I had trouble mid way through this session in just letting go of my thoughts and listening to the sounds around me. I at first tried to fight off my thoughts but let go and let them pass and was able to get back to just listening.

Irritating Noise
Noise irritates me easily. Small sounds keep my anxiety rising as I try to fall asleep at night. When I am aware of the unpleasant sound, and am also aware of my body’s reaction to the sound, it is somehow less powerful. When there is an awareness of the feeing, and not just a sense of helplessness when a negative feeling occurs, you almost disarm yourself. It’s being unaware to our body’s negative reactivity that makes us a puppet to the biology of our emotions.

to be a gentle observer
observing without judging without necessarily focusing on what I want and not want, simply observing and listening to the surrounding noises.

Relaxed State of Mind 🌻
The sounds of traffic outside today we’re pretty much on the mild side, so it was easy to listen without distraction. It helped to tune in to them instead of trying to tune it out. This guided meditation helped but I think if it would’ve been noisier traffic and people talking out there and very loud distracting noises it might’ve been more difficult to embrace them. But, I felt calm and enjoyed this session. I will try to hold on to this calm and relaxed state of mind. 🌻

Mindful listening
I have really come to enjoy mindful listening meditations. Trying to hear all the sounds helps to distract me from my thoughts. I find myself relaxing and just letting the sounds come and go like my breath.

Awareness
I learned to put my wants and not wants aside to observe the world around me.

Awareness
I learned that I can be more aware by noticing what’s happening around me, for example: sounds.

Observer Only
It’s better to just observe my surroundings, and avoid trying to attach meanings or positive/negative thoughts to things.

I learned that being mindful means to be aware and nonjudgemental. This meditation was about the sounds around us, and what we notice, but to not give a story or judgement to those sounds. It’s simply recognizing and moving on.

This meditation allowed for me to have a better idea of how taking time out of my day to listen to sounds and noises around me can give me a better appreciation for the music and day to day living that we experience.

No title
Sound differs from noise yet to any given ear they may be one and the same. Dissecting sound isolating - sourcing - tunes the mind to sound inside sound.

Sounds
This was an unusual experience for me in that I meditated late at night and it was extremely quiet...except that I have tinnitus, in the form of a kind of whooshing sound. I usually try to will myself not to hear it and this time I listened carefully. It was a bit surreal concentrating on a sound no one else could hear.

Concentrate on the present moment
It helped me to observe and feel the present moment and stop thinking about other things. It feels good and soothing.

By the time I had identified the noises around me, the session was complete. I need to subscribe to Aura and get to do the longer sessions!

Let it be
I need to let the noise come and go. Do not dwell or put too much focus on those sounds that are bothersome. Just let it be.

Listening to the Nor’ Easter!
This was an interesting practice today as the sounds were of the peltering rain on the window along with the sounds of the wind gusts pressing the rain harder against the windows in the house. Looking forward to trying this practice outside during spring!

That everything you need can be reached with a little effort.
I have to visualize it and reach for it and don’t give up. Keep on going. Breathing.

Listen and breathe
It was refreshing to just listen to the sounds around me. Ceiling fan, cars in the distance and my dog snoring. It felt good that I didn’t have to tend to them, they could just be and so can I

Wanting and Not Wanting
“Moving away from feelings of wanting and not wanting something and just being a casual observer of it...” That is brilliant!

Extra special
This meditation was extra special and very relaxing. I added the river sound and the music in the background and it gave it a much more calming feeling. I also like the part about just observing and not having any feelings, interactions or distracting thoughts. I also noticed that there was no Aura theme music at the beginning or the end, I need to find more meditations like this one! Thanks Carla-Jo🙏
