Mindful Moments
Taking a few moments to observe our bodily sensations, thoughts and emotions gives us space to get in touch with who we really are beyond our body, thoughts and emotions. In touch with who we really are for a few moments can give us the peace and clarity needed to make our next steps in life.
Getting comfortable, I took in three deep breaths. I then scanned my body for any sensations I felt for a few moments. Then I turned towards the thoughts in my mind for a few moments. Allowing them to float across the sky of my mind like clouds, I was able to refrain from identifying with them and instead, see them for what they were: thoughts. I placed my hands over my heart to get in touch with the emotions my body was experiencing for a few moments. Sensing without identifying with them, I noticed how they rise out of nothingness , stay awhile and then dissipate into nothingness. Taking these mindful moments, I am getting to know myself better.
