Like my last session, the three attributes of well-being was imagined by me as a radiantly glowing, peaceful floating light. I also thought of my three and possibly only friends, that I have given them to because they absolutely deserve it. :) I had no trouble or shame accepting this light; who wouldn’t want to? It’s a wonderful gift to achieve to be happy and living your full potential.

Rid me of my stinking pity thinking ..
I am only as peaceful and content as the feelings I choose to give weight and attention and energy to. I must continue consciously choosing which 'wolf' to feed inside and avoid the trap of negative despairing self talk which results in continued discontent and unrest at my very core! Loving myself is not easy some days it takes more work and patience but slowly the reality of my work is emerging even only a week after tragedy in my relationship life. Thanks to my higher power for holding me while I cannot hold myself!

If everyone felt love for themselves as well as projecting it towards others the world would be very different. Not everyone does this but be the change you wish to see and hope for a day that you can see the manifestation of that, and that all came because you changed yourself. I noticed how calming it felt to have space between the words with the 7 minute session. This is a great meditation to start my day and I’m thinking it would be equally good to end my day. Loving kindness is the antidote to hate. Wishing others to be safe, happy, healthy and at ease is a sure way to bring it back to ourselves as well. It’s more than just telling someone you love them. To me it feels like love in action when I wish loving kindness upon myself and others. For me, sending out love is more powerful than receiving it, it’s almost like when you’re waiting for a person to take the wrapping paper off a gift and you’re twitching with eagerness because you know it’s something that they have been wanting and will love. In any given moment, the cycle of receiving and giving is happening all around us. In this metta meditation, we give an offering of well-being to ourselves and others. Doing so, we set a wonderful tone for our day. Settling into an upright position, I began to follow Kristy’s guidance and give myself offerings of well-being. Saying these beautiful words to myself, feelings of love began to sprout in my heart. Bringing to mind someone that I care for, I thought of my friend Lisa. As I said these beautiful words to her, I visualized her beautiful face smiling. Having increasingly feelings of love sprouting in my heart, I realize that I am the embodiment of love. I just woke up, so I’m not sure what feelings I have other than anxiety at the moment, but with this meditation and journaling, as well as yoga, I hope to steer myself toward more positive thoughts so that my hearts slows and I stop shaking. Nightmare disorder and seizures means that I usually wake up from awful feelings of anxiety and fear. I’m trying to move my mind away from that constant cycle of deep unpleasantness, but I also understand that it takes time and consideration. I know none of this will happen literally overnight, but this is still me trying to maintain the autonomy of my body and not allowing these feelings to be so pervasive that they affect my health any more than absolutely necessary. This is part of that.

I feel sad in the morning when the kids go to school and it’s a work day. I feel a little like time is slipping and resentful of work and a sense of loss that we are ā€œlosingā€ some of our time together. It’s a little challenging to feel peaceful when that is lurking.
