The breath and the mind are mirror reflections of each other; as one is unsteady or smooth, so is the other. We can use the rhythm of the breath to create a calm mind and shift the nervous system into a soothing response. This is a wonderful way to prepare yourself for deep rest and relaxation. As we lengthen the exhale to double the length of the inhale, it truly creates an effect that feels like releasing and letting go of all that is no longer needed at this time. Enjoy!
