Mama guilt
Thoughts, thoughts go away and do not come again another day. When I do nice loving things for me guilt creeps up. Today I did nice loving things for me because I am worth it.

When I get stressed or anxious, I need to connect with nature.
Breathing helps bring me back to center, and let go of what's holding me down.

Nature is part of my concept of a higher power. I can draw nature to nourish and re-vitalize

Feeling nourished
Trees are such lovely creations that we have such a strong relationship with when we choose to acknowledge it. After my walk with my children, I enjoy watching them play at our neighborhood park. Sitting on the grass next to a tree and choosing this meditation was perfect.

.
This definitely helped me relax, I’m a bit anxious as I’m flying tomorrow (even though I fly all the time) for some reason I’m a bit anxious. It’s nice to have a quick meditation to relax the muscles in my body, I could really imagine being a tree and growing into the ground and growing branches. It’s great practise

Breathing in is giving us the nourishment we need, so sit on that breath in. Breathing out keeps us grounded in our thoughts so let it be slow.

Remaining in bed for this session didn't fulfill the premise. Attempted to follow the lead of the narration though. Still a nice way to begin the day.

It is important to stay steady. However I remind myself that I do not need to stay in one spot as a tree does. I am free to wander, but will have more success with a solid, steady foundation.

Flexibility
I resonated with the concept of receiving our nourishment and support from the earth while reaching our branches towards the warmth and light. I did, however, add the image of having enough flexibility to my sturdy, strong trunk so as not to block over in the midst of storms.

Growth
I learned that breathing exercises are a key to relaxation. Visualizing a tree is a great metaphor to represent growth. Stretching yourself to reach goals is showing growth. Moving forward is the right direction to move and letting go of distractions and past experiences also shows growth.

Rooting and Growing
Rooting, growing, expanding, deepening, may all cause discomfort. But God is the soil in the Earth, the sunshine in the sky, the nutrients in the air, the support of the rain. God sustains us and gives us what we need to grow as strong and flexible trees do.

Strength in a tree
Be sturdy. Visualising myself as a big mighty tree helps me to be sure of myself as a strong and confident individual and reminds me that there is no need to get upset or even angry over small things that may seem important but are in fact trivial.

who i am
i am a part of the earth. in society today it is so easy to forget our roots and mother nature and all that there is, but putting ourselves back into the roots to continue and nourish will help. it’s the opposite of the trees, they start in the roots and we get lost and have to push our roots back into the earth.

Being supported by the trees
We live in five forested acres in the Pacific Northwest so this is a particularly powerful exercise for me. There have been an increasing number of clear cuts nearby, so in maintaining the forest we provide habitat for deer, raccoons, ravens, pileated woodpeckers and owls. I give thanks for the trees every day. And I feel the forest likewise helps to suppress me@

Grounded and conected
So often I go about my day without pausing to feel myself rooted to the earth. And it’s truly a miracle and and everything and everyone else are even on this earth! My “roots” haven’t felt very stable lately. There is personal and professional tension that’s making me feel unsteady. These short 3 minutes were a nice reminder that I am grounded and I can find content even if there is a bit of unease in certain areas of my life.

I love this analogy. Trees are strong and work together better as a team. Just like humans. Sometimes the world is scary. But in the end it’s what we have to do for us and the people around us.

Tree in the Wind
Finding ourselves in a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, we can feel as if we are losing our footing in the middle of a storm. In this wonderful meditation, we use our visualization skills along with the power of our breath to feel grounded and unswayed, like a tree in the wind. Standing with my knees bent in my backyard, I connect with my breath and roll my feet back and forth to feel more connected to the earth. Using the power of my breath, I visualized my feet as roots of a tree. Receiving nourishment on my inhale and growing my roots into the earth on my exhale, I find myself gaining strength. Incorporating my arms as branches and leaves, I reach my arms up to the sky to receive the warmth of the sunlight on my inhale and lower them back to my sides on my exhale. With my branches extended, feeling my leaves receiving sunlight, my roots firmly planted in the earth, I felt the chi, or life force energy flowing through my trunk and my branches. I looked around and saw that everything in my surroundings is always changing. Filled with new vitality, strength and well-being, I feel myself grounded and unswayed, like a tree in the wind.
