Heart Awakening
Compassion is a strong wish for yourself and others to be free from suffering. We all experience suffering, even if it is merely our everyday experiences of sadness, stress, or worry. By shining more compassion on yourself on the inside, you become a beacon of compassionate light on the outside as well.

Tapping into emotions
Sometimes it's easy to numb out of what we're truly feeling- especially with sadness, fear, and difficult emotions. But the thought of tapping in and letting myself feel the wave of sadness and bringing in the light of compassion to brighten my heart space resonated with me so much. Very moving, thank you 🙏🏻

Compassion
We have the capacity of changing our feelings, so whenever I feel sad, I just pray and think of positive things or people that makes me feel happy. Thats the power of mind.

Letting go
Wow this really hit home for me. I get anxiety attacks in my chest when I think of stress or certain situations in my life. I also am working on being my own best friend and becoming my own best person so this was a wonderful meditation!

See the emotion...
...and breathe into it. Very empowering and reassuring bit of self-care.

Thinking about self compassion made me cry because I really don’t have much.
I will think more about it and try to make some. My whole life I’ve felt my “job” has been compassion for others and I’ve put my own needs last.

Compassion
Self compassion for me is difficult. I have more for others than me.

Self love
I learned that one thing about this subject is that it’s okay to be true to yourself and accept all the flaws and quirks that you have. I still have a little bit of trouble giving myself compassion but I’m sure that it’s a matter of time to heal from my trauma and live in the moment.

Being for me
I learned that it’s not about who are by your side but it’s all about to be yourself who is there always, to fill your heart with light of compassion rather than sadness or nostalgia. All the people that surrounds you are moments, is you who stays, always stays.

Anxiety disguised as...?
I learned that feelings of anxiety can stem from not having enough self-compassion. I think I just confused stress with anxiety before. Having more confidence and pushing aside thoughts that try to tell me “I’m not measuring up” could go a long way towards reaching my goals.

It's made me feel about sad moments, and that I feel like I have a broken heart from my past relationship and that my broken heart needs to be fixed!

Visualization
I learned that visualization is not the technique for me. Mediation for me should be focused more on things I can actively control rather than things I must visualize.

Today I felt that it was easier to let go of negative space and allow the inner light from within back into my heart, I breathe better before and I definitely feel better

Sadness
Was a feeling in my chest informed by a verse of an ancient Japanese haiku ("solitude stained my chest"), that my mind kept for years. From now on, the feeling is and will be: "my inner fire radiates my chest with heat and light."

Droopy
When I focused in on my heart, I felt a heavy sensation like as of my heart was dropping down into my chest like a dying flower. After, I felt as if my heart inflated like a balloon as the warmth was put into my heart.

Self care
Although we need other people in our lives, journeying with us and offering their experiences. We oftentimes expect other people to fix us and make us happy. When in reality, we are our own best caretaker and friend. You can’t truly be happy until you are happy with yourself!

raindrops crackle like pop rocks
A distant bark echoes “let me in! I’m done! It’s wet out here!” One soaked cricket tries to rosen his bow but puts it away after a few slippery strokes The highway swooshes like a distant air plane inside of a seashell I think I’ll stay inside and curl up by the fire with a good book

Self-compassion
I struggle with this. I find it easier to feel compassion for what others are feeling or going through but I get very impatient with myself when I am not “perfect”. This was a good reminder to start being more compassionate and loving toward myself. I am human and matter as well.

Our Own Best Friend
This is a wonderful meditation in which Christina has us visualize a bright yellow light of compassion into our heart center. It is a great way to bring warmth into our heart center if we are experiencing tough emotions. As I sat here feeling sadness, I began to feel my heart center. It felt heavy, empty and as if my heart was broken into two. I followed Christina’s lead and began to visualize a warm yellow glow of light of compassion encompass my heart center. With each breath, my heart center became warmer and warmer as this yellow light became brighter and brighter. What a beautiful and comforting feeling! I am grateful for listening to this meditation because Christina gave me a tool that I can use anytime to fill myself up with compassion and love. It is important to remember, especially during difficult times, to be our own best friend.
