Thinking over feeling
This mediation popped up in my feed when I should have been feeling rather than thinking during the 9/11 memorial at Tempe beach park tonight. It gave me just enough pause at the right moment to switch to feeling the comfort & support around me. As it turns out I needed this to quiet my thoughts about how the concept of a healing circle could help survivors of domestic & sexual violence before bed. If not my mind would have kept me up all night.

I appreciate the thought that "meditation is not so much about focusing on the breath as refocusing on the breath." What a gentle, non-judgmental guidance for us. A relief, really. Thanks.

Our teacher has a wonderful youthfulness and energy that is very refreshing as is the lesson . It is very helpful to me I will revisit it from time to time

"Mindful meditation is not about focus but re-focus" - This allows me to better accept minds wandering and hence make it easier to bring the mind back to re-focus the breath

Wrong voice
I learned that I need a more professionally trained voice than this female on the mindful soul. Cannot relax to a voice that sounds like a valley girl.

Letting go
I relearned that mindfulness is often about refocusing out thoughts and energy rather than not having thoughts arise. I liked the grace offered in this meditation also. If you have 50 thoughts arise, it's 50 times you refocus.
