When we fight our reality or struggle against change, we can inadvertently create more suffering for ourselves. By allowing ourselves to let go and accept things as they are, we suffer less. This meditation is designed to help you let go of the things that you can't control through the use of your body and mind.

Emotions Just Are
In letting go of resistance, I learn resilience. In releasing the need to control or define a situation, I gain peace as my anxiety is much more calm. I enjoyed how the meditation teacher had a repetition of "Let go" in the moments of release. It's so easy to resist emotions. If I can accept them, then they don't have power over me. Initially, it's akin to allowing the emotion to hit me. Then, after giving up resistance, I find that emotions can't hurt me. That is, if I don't allow them to. Emotions just are.

I'm gaining control by letting go
The phrase "it is what it is" repeatedly throughout this meditation brought forth an immediate adverse reaction. A strong sense of needing to control. The thought that things are the way I create them to be. But we all know this isnt always true. I am coming to realize that by letting go I am not losing control but gaining acceptance. And through acceptance, able to move forward in a more constructive way.

I learned through this session that I don’t need to control my thoughts. This session was a struggle at first as I seemed to have a battle with accepting just letting go. I didn’t want to accept my ever wondering mind and was trying to fight against letting go as I felt that would mean I’ve failed at reaching my goal of quieting my mind. It was in this struggle that I realized there is no fight, I do not need to control my thoughts but rather let them be and understand that my thoughts are not me but they are just that, thoughts. I feel this struggle with control extends to other aspects of my life and I need to learn that I do not need to control everything and everything is not my burden to bare.

I’ve learned that when I am trying to take control i’m actually creating more stress for myself and becoming my own enemy. I learned that I should first let go of the stress that exams have caused for me. I was having a headache and now I feel so much better. I feel free and loose. I couldn’t study and revise for I had so much to revise and so little time to do it. Also, my friends are kinda ignoring me and some are kinda being mean to me no matter what I do, like when I say something to the teacher and the teacher tells me that she doesn’t think the same, my friend tells “that’s what you get.” Rudely and we’re not close anymore cuz before she used to tell me we were and I thought that too, we got close quick now she’s like are we even that close to talk like that? Other friends are ignoring me, I went to middle school but I really miss my primary school friends. I really wanted them back and to have my old life back tbh. I tried to let go and now I feel better because I learned that some people are just like that, they may not like you anymore or they think your mean by just looking at your face no matter how nice you try to be, you may look angry and it’s your face, you can’t help that you look like that, you can hate it if you want. Also learned to ignore the things I have no control over like those matters with my friends. I’m really glad I took time with this plus, I haven’t gotten sleep much at all too and I feel dizzy.

Bye bye big trees! 😌
Today, I had a bad surprise : my neighbors decided to cut the three big trees they had at the back of their house. I first heard the loud and violent sounds of the chainsaw. Seeing more and more cut branches, I then realized that they were cutting them completely... I was really sad, angry and frustrated at the same time. I would have like tu stop them and save the precious trees. I didn’t have all the courage to stop them, risking to create a conflict with my neighbors. This is confusing for me... We won’t see these wonderful trees anymore... And now, I discover this meditation: it is just what I needed. So thank you for these réflexions! I’ll do my best to let go, with love and rememberance. 🌳🌳🌳❤️❤️❤️ P.S. : Walking by, we found an acorn from one of the oaks. We’re planing to plant it in our backyard ! 😍

It’s not all your fault because it’s not all up to you. Your only in control of you, your thoughts and feelings and emotions, and the things you would do differently are all you. You can’t make them do anything they don’t want to do, they have to change themselves at their own pace and time. They need to want to be around you and give just as much effort and energy because it’s not just a one way street. It’s NOT just up to YOU. You have to let go of all the things you can’t change.

This was my best meditation so far. I felt more natural with it. I've been anxious for weeks and stressed for much longer. I just need to stop worrying and trust God. I have asked, step 1; and I know the s/he, they, have delivered, step 2; now I need only trust in the process, let go and receive, step 3. Remember the ring.

Reality can be harsh.
Acceptance has been my hardest lesson in life. I need to move forward and accept my life as it is and know the struggles ahead are of my own doing and learn and accept I have made many mistakes. I need a lot of work in this area of acceptance to break old unhealthy habits and form new healthy habits, not make excuses to repeat the old because it seems an easier path and then blame others or circumstance Acceptance of myself and the things I must change to move forward.
