The time between a stressful situation and your response-that is the pause. Learning to pause, like any skill, takes practice. But by learning to use this pause to help you think through a situation, you can gain an invaluable tool to help you manage your feelings more effectively.

pause
learning that through tough situations, just taking a moment to pause is very beneficial. i will be taking this into consideration. i know that i can get upset quite easily, but if i just take a minute to assess the situation, i can prevent much more negativity that may foster.

I love the idea of pausing before responding. It’s a skill I desperately need to learn.

Such a good reminder to just stop and be still and think before you react.
When you learn the skill to just stop and think before you react, it is so good to have a reminder! Even those that are the best at this need reminders. Thank you!

Learn to Pause
Easier said than done. There is a person I can't pause with for long. But great skill to use in general. I will continue to work on this. I want to get it down!! I'm not sure exactly how to get there. Practice of course. It's an important life skill to implement. A favorite quote of mine; Respond, don't react. Listen, don't talk. Think, don't assume. By Raji Lukkoor. One important item that comes into play with all of this is patience. I've improved in this area quite a bit. I still need to continue!! Thank you for this meditation.

Just what I need
PAUSE..sounds like a very instrumental tool to find peace within your anger or upset feelings. I should of thought of that a long time ago😊 I have anger issues and yesterday was probably the most intense I have ever been. I felt to be blamed, I felt abandoned(and I still do), I felt confused and abused. I feel taken advantage of and I’m really hurting inside and wonder to myself, why me? I think if I were to PAUSE, it would keep me from yelling, screaming and saying things that shouldn’t be said. This happens cuz I am hurting so bad. Thank you so much for the opportunity to listen to this meditation. It really helped me to realize that I need to focus on a better way to communicate when I am upset or feeling angry. I don’t like to hurt people, which I tend to do with my words. Something I really need to work on. I appreciate the help.

Learning to pause
This is a great reminder that I need to think before I react. Sometimes easier said than done, but the tools are there and I always have a choice in how I handle every situation!

Pause
I wish I had listen to this prior to trigger the other day. I know very clearly to respond instead of react. I was not mindful the other day and was distracted, so I allowed myself to be triggered. I will press pause next time!

Thoughts
I have noticed that my sons behavior can be triggering for me. Taking the time to pause can help me remember his actions are not a reflection on my parenting. I can let him vent, give him solutions, and then tell him I need some space or explain how his continuous complaining is ruining my time at the event.

pause
often i find that all we need to do is pause. just for a minute or two, we need to reevaluate the situation and respond in a healthy and appropriate way

Pause
I breve never really thought it through about pausing. I’ll think of a way to remind myself ( rubber band?), so every time I need to remind myself to pause.

This is something I will bring up in my morning meeting with my students. My inner city students react constantly and never stop to pause.

Practicing and planning to pause takes time and intention
This is key for me. And there's a space of development that's always been missing...what more calm and harmonizing, helpful, friendly responses look like. I am learning about the nuances and intricacies of daily thinking and life...and how it's not a given that we will respond lovingly. It's something that can be intended, learned, practiced and improved over time. And it's essential for me ... because it's key to harmonious and healthy relationships.

Taking a Pause
Very purposeful and helpful thought process. No, I will need to apply what I heard. Thank you.
