Heart Awakening
When something challenging comes up for us emotionally, our first reaction may be to resist it – to distract ourselves, to stuff the emotion down, or simply to wish we weren't feeling it at all. What if instead of pushing a difficult emotion away, you leaned into it? When you can let that emotion get as big as it wants to get inside of you, and direct all of your compassionate breath towards it, oftentimes that emotion will release on its own. This allows you to continue with your day with a renewed sense of inner calm and peace.

I needed this to let go of my sadness, now I know that it will be okay. I just need to feel my feelings and not neglect them

We are all connected through our oractice
I felt accompanied in the stillness of my practice by all the others who are also meditating today. It gave me a sense of warm reassurance.

Accepting and honoring my feelings
I am safe in feeling anxious and the stress of uncertainties to come. I give these feelings love; I honor them and accept them with a smile. I move forward calmly.

Anxiety is always with me
I have difficulty accepting my anxiety. It's with me all the time and never leaves me alone. I can't stand it. I want to know what it feels like to be free from it. Leaning into it isn't bringing me peace but the exact opposite.

Leaning in
I learned that I can manage my emotions better when I let go and breathe into them. Although I still have some anxiety, it's lessened.

Lean in. Heart awakening
This is by far the best meditation I have done so far. I learned to lean into my anxiety and therefore begin to understand it and then begin to heal. Feeling wonderful. Thank you 😊

Doubt
I learned that all emotions are real and are part of me including happiness, doubt, sadness and excitement. They can be be given attention but are a part of me not the whole.

Mindfulness awareness
I learned that an emotion wants to be felt. As much as I am an advocate of resting in one's feelings and that avoidance won't make anything better, hearing that "an emotion wants to be felt" was resonant. Different and more straightforward statement of something I've known and practiced that will now help me a lot with whatever I feel instead of always trying to move past or through things that aren't as comfortable.

I found this meditation hard. I know if it’s bcuz of how I feel or that fact of giving sadness inside of me space. Either way, I need to work on this meditative skill a little harder.

This was hard to follow and it didn’t help me to let go or ease the tension inside. I still feel bad
This didn’t help me. I still feel stressed and tense and mind is full of worry and concern.

Not for me
I learned that this series is just not my cup of tea. I can't deal with the nonstop guidance meditation voice. Unfortunately as well as the style, the voice reminds me too much of a sitcom character from a popular show. Not the stuff of mindfulness practices for me. I ended up disengaging from the instructions.

I’m trying to figure out if I didn’t resonate with this because I didn’t want to lean into whichever emotions are present, or because it felt slightly awkward & heady; or perhaps some combination. I found myself struggling with phrases like “find your spine” and “heal that emotion” as though the emotion is wrong or broken. This wasn’t the breath of healing energy I was hoping for.

I learned that the hardest things need to be attended to as well as the good, but it all come down to breathing. I learned that it’s ok to curl up and embrace all of YOU.

Was the point to acknowledge the emotion and then swallow it?

Hard to follow
Like others here I did not understand why I would need to integrate an emotion that is inherently negative. I guess the point is to pay attention to the emotion and not bury it. Also, I think most emotional states are too complex to simply isolate and “focus on.” They are comprised of lots of interconnected emotions, not just sadness, anxiety, etc. In that sense I had a hard time doing what was being asked. I still did get some sense of relaxation simply from the act of meditating, however.

Emotions
I am learning how to cater to emotions...this meditation hit the spot and just clarifies the importance of acknowledging what your feeling and giving it the space it needs to express it self.

Stag To The Pity Party
Meditating on an emotion that isn’t of joy or happiness is difficult. Most times when I’m sad or feeling helpless I want to ignore those emotions and distract myself. Honing into an emotion of sadness, anxiety, failure, or defeat really brings perspective to what caused that emotion. No one is a super hero or at perfect equilibrium on the emotional spectrum... we have to accept where we are and how we got there.

This meditation was uplifting having always had trouble sensing my emotions as they come and go, concentrating on the now gives me insight in to what is going on inside me.

Today my emotion was happiness. Today I connected with others and brightened their days by bringing them Christmas cookies and spending time chatting with them. It was easy to lean into that emotion. If my emotion was negative it may have been hard to allow it to grow.

Timing
I was trying to sleep in today when my morning meditation alarm woke me from a wonderfully romantic dream feeling ‘frisky’ (if you know what I mean 😏). Leaning into that feeling was interesting. I tried to resist at first, but then just let go and leaned into it. Well it certainly did build and now, we’ll, let’s say I should have picked a different emotion vibration. I maybe should try this again...?

Good or bad
There are no good or bad emotions...just different ones....some are easier to cope with and acknowledge, others more challenging....all are part of the experience.

Hard emotions
I’m hurting right now. Leaning in to that emotion is so difficult. But I can’t heal, learn or grow from that emotion if I don’t feel it. It is safe to feel whatever emotion is in your body.

Just Feeling
Sometimes you just have to let a challenging emotion play itself out so you can move on. Fighting it prolongs it and feeds it, while just letting it flow allows it to burn itself out.

Such deep pain fear anxiety and sadness
This let me to into the underbelly of my anxiety. I asked my body to turn it up. I knew it had more. The flood gates opened. It is ok to be anxious. And sad. And nervous. It is ok. I am ok. Nothing is wrong with me for having such big feelings. It is ok to be me with these pressing feelings of emotion. That was a big release.

Leaning In without finding an emotion
I learned that it’s hard to lean in to an emotion that you know is there. So instead of really trying to find the emotion, I tried to allow it to come out if it wanted to. I continued to breathe in deeply and see if I could name it with different qualities. But I ended up noticing mainly body sensations and my breath.

Day 3
Not really effective today. Whole thing feels forced. It feels as though my body and mind do not want to be doing this and are rejecting meditation instead of being open to it.

I learned that even with the negative emotions, we just need to give them space. I find that when I allow myself to feel sad, angry, upset, etc., that I come out of it quicker. When I best myself up over these emotions, I tend to linger in them. Giving my breath to these emotions and letting myself feel them is a natural part of being human and I shouldn’t be scared or judgmental about that.

Anxiety=socks
I just had an “ah ha” moment. I woke up feeling anxious this morning, with no clear reason. It seems to happen often. Todays meditation gave me the insight that my feelings, both good and bad, do not define me. I would say they are comparable to a pair of socks, in the sense that they are not permanent but simply what I’m wearing at the moment. When instructed to let my anxiety grow as big it wanted to. I became even more anxious, until the light bulb went off. I woke up with anxious socks today, but i can put on my gratitude socks at anytime. Lol! Not sure if this makes perfect sense but I feel I’m scratching the surface of a major breakthrough!

Lean into the emotion
Lean into an emotion and feel it. Allow it to be heard. Sometimes all an emotion needs is to be felt and acknowledged.

Attatchments
We all feel things, we can’t prevent those emotions. We need to recognize that no emotion is bad. Emotions are guides, they are helps and they are a driving force. We should never try to prevent ourselves from feeling something.

I felt disappointment was there huddled in the corner. I was sad because I noticed disappointment and knew where it was stemming from. I looked at disappointment and fed my breath into it just acknowledging that I am, in fact, disappointed.

Letting Go
I learned that It’s ok to give space to emotions. I had a feeling stuck in my heart center that was causing me distress. When I leaned into it however and let it expand, it melted and the droplets went into my core and down my body. However my heart feels lighter. It’s a weird thing to explain but I feel more relaxed

I felt the emotion sadness, doubt, and rejection.
Sadness and doubt because of Chris. I keep feeling fear that I’ve made a mistake by ending it with him. And I feel bad with not only the way I did it but the fact that I acted on it and actually left. I mean my father left me, I know that feeling of abandonment. It feels terrible. Rejection because of P and E. It’s crazy how I can feel that but I do.

Space
Much like my psychologist talked about, distraction is good for dealing with emotions in inappropriate settings (like a panic attack in Tesco) but you have to deal with what you're feeling. You gotta give it space and recognise that it's there, and understand why it's there

Emotions
Emotions need to be felt and shouldn’t be forced inside. I felt that once the emotion is felt at first it is discomforting but once I got into it I felt better.
