Great for Attachment Issues
As someone with an inherited anxious attachment style, I often wake up feeling alone in the world. It doesn’t occur to me that people still care about me, or miss me, or think about me when I am not with them. I am an island to myself. When this feels heavy, pausing to envision my connection to something living gets me grounded once again. My dogs or cat. My kids. My husband.
For beginners or those especially impacted by attachment trauma even connecting first with a tree or crystal (yes, earth’s elements are “living” just as the earth is living) helps.
I appreciate that there is a meditation teaching this skill to others as it is truly valid and helpful.
