Mindful Break
Majority of us wake up in the morning and begin a sprint to get as much done on their to-do list as possible. While it is important to be productive, we can burn ourselves out if we aren’t careful. In addition, life can completely pass us by if we aren’t careful. That is why it is good to balance a to-do list with a to-be list.
In this meditation, Cindy introduces us to a task that is on our to-be list, a mindful break, where we pause to catch our breath and feel sensations in our body.
This morning has been pretty eventful, as I’ve been going pretty much since I woke up. I did pause to listen to this meditation, but quickly remembered something else I wanted to get done this morning before it gets too hot out. While doing that task, I noticed myself having mindful movements. My mind was clear so I had great attention to detail. I was fully aware in these moments. I attribute my mindfulness to the mindful break I had earlier. After completing the task, I decided to listen to this meditation again. Settling in my breath, I felt at ease. With all of my senses open in my surroundings, I allowed the waves of experiences to come to me instead of trying to search for them. I noticed sensations occurring within my body. Gratitude flooded my heart. During these moments of my mindful break, I found that this was enough.
Taking a few moments to just be throughout our day is crucial for our well-being. During those mindful breaks, we find that we aren’t happy because our life is good, we are happy because Life is good! In this way, we quickly realize that our happiness is not attached to any one thing! That means that happiness is a conscious choice we make each and every moment of every day! Take time for mindful breaks...your body, mind and spirit will thank you graciously for them.
