Love Conquers
The ego is designed to keep us safe. While this is a good thing, the ego cannot discern what is a real threat and what isn’t. Therefore, if we aren’t aware of when our ego shows up, we can and will be taken over by fear even when there isn’t a real threat. Having our ego call the shots, we don’t venture out much from our comfort zone unless we are pushed to do so. We focus on what we lack due to having a scarcity mindset. We feel separated from others. In this beautiful meditation, Katie has us recall when our ego showed up while we dance to the melody of our breath. In doing so, we bring attention to how we reacted during those moments. Settling in an upright position, I brought awareness to my breath. While my breath danced to the beautiful background music, my body and relaxed. Feeling calm, I thought of a recent conversation where being right was all that mattered. I thought of a recent time when I felt an uneasiness in my stomach because I was on the edge of my comfort zone. Knowing why my ego was trying to keep me safe, I can’t fault it. But, I can take a pause and bring my awareness to my heart. I can thank my ego for showing up and then consciously choose a different way to respond. With loving awareness, my heart will guide my responses rather than my ego. In this way, love will conquer any perceived fear. Thank you, Katie! Namaste 🙏🏻❤️☮️
