The stories that you tell reflect how you think. What you tell yourself, you believe. "The stories you tell reflect the way in which you think; and how you make sense of what happens. The challenge is to tell the stories that convey what is true; and to keep your mind and heart open to each experience and what it has the potential of teaching you." - dorothy ratusny p.s. There is a lot to take in here, and in each episode of CBT 'Best Practices'. I encourage you to take notes so that each audio becomes a mini therapeutic session of best practices that provides the guidance, wisdom, and love that you need! Well done!! Please join me for more CBT 'Best Practices' here! Namaste!

A higher vantage point
I learned that the stories we tell ourselves are powerful. They can dictate our thoughts, words, actions. Our past does help shape us but does not define us. We can change the narrative we tell ourselves and therefore change the narrative we tell others. Words are powerful. They should be used wisely. We all make mistakes with our words, what’s important is that we learn from those mistakes so that we can be molded into a better, more loving, productive human being.

Accomplishments
I learned my story is not one of sorrow. Yes, I’ve had events that should have broken me. They didn’t! While I lingered much to long on the negativity, I absolutely lost my accomplishments to my sorrow. I am a strong person. I often tell people “I look good on paper”. We laugh and carry on. On paper my ACCOMPLISHMENTS are plentiful! I am going to re-examine my life thus far and bring my prize journey to the forefront. I am going to drop these stones of sorrow along the path. I won’t forget them, I just won’t let them weigh me down any longer. My journey has begun to be lighter as I toss each stone.

Telling is talking is remembering is honoring is giving
The therapy in the storytelling is in the telling and listening, the tone, cadence, visuals, plot, energy, weaving circling joining Creating a world of truths and fiction, marvels and mundane, space in between as the magic cooks or composts and shows up when needed or least expected and the ingredient that gives the sought flavor- who would think? Sometimes the study has a deeper voice(s) and seems to tell itself. Shhh. Ahhh

By changing my story I can change myself, recalling and telling positive stories will condition my mind to find and recall the positive in my life, what you focus on is what you find, so find positivity

We believe what we tell ourselves
We believe what we tell ourselves - “fake it till you make it” mentality. Basically just tell yourself what you want to become and focus on the good.
