I really like the pausing in this meditation. It allowed me to truly focus on my heart space and I could feel my heart rate slowing slightly. It didn't interfere with my normal breathing. I normally don't like to feel my heart beat, but I am learning to have gratitude for this wonderful organ that I take for granted. Thank you. ❤️🌷

I didn't really like this meditation. I switched up the timing of when I practiced my mindfulness to tonight rather than when I wake up. This is when I am most anxious so instead of being able to embrace this meditation my mind seemed to reject the mans voice instead. There were also a few outside distractions but I will work on being more opened minded and blocking out the noises next time!

Heart meditation
My most prominent symptom of anxiety is my pounding heart. Whenever I feel stressed and under pressure I can feel it beating so strongly I can hear it echoing in my ears. Sometimes I even look down at my body to see if it’s beating out of my chest and once in a while I can see my heart hammering underneath my clothes. It’s scary because it feels like I’m about to have a heart attack and it often happens when I’m semi awake; the anxious thoughts flood in but I can’t seem to get my body to wake up and calm down my heart. This session made me focus on my heart which felt like a flutter underneath my hand. A good indication of the calmness I am feeling currently. No anxiety, not today.

We should give gratitude to ourselves and to our hearts, even for just a moment. The heart keeps us alive, allows us to love and to feel, and makes us who we are. It felt good to show a moment of appreciation for such a vital organ.

Gratitude is beautiful! We rarely stop to think of all the miraculous things our bodies do for us. If anything, we spend more time criticizing parts of our bodies. This meditation was a good reminder to be GRATEFUL for every heartbeat.

Parents, grandparents and uncles on both sides of my family have suffered and passed away as a result of heart problems in their early 40’s, so my heart and my high blood pressure has always been a concern.
