I found myself overjoyed after this session as I realized how lucky I am to have these senses. A few years ago I had began losing the sense of touch, taste, and the ability to think rationally. Without knowing, I was going about my life, for 8 to a year, with diabetes. By the time I was assessed by a doctor I was knocking on death’s doorstep.
Neuropathy had began to set in. I could barely stand. My mouth was so dry, no food was tasteful. In fact, anything with a hint of acidity burned my mouth. I was disease ridden and had a potassium level of .4. That was dangerous to put it lightly.
I remember at the time that I had taken so much for granted and vowed, if I survived, to cherish every moment moving forward. Today I am grateful for our senses that we often expect to be there when we wake up. Stay in touch with your bodies’ many miracles.
