Took a short road trip today to a place that I love; I visit there periodically and would love to live there some day. My family used to go there when I was a kid and through my teen years. I am so grateful for those years. Now I savor the memories of that place and my loved ones who are no longer with me, but shared my joy with me. I am happy and sad at the same time. 💙🌷

We always tell ourselves to remember the little things in life, the reason we always forget this is because the things that we believe are the big/more important things in our life keep our minds busy even when they shouldn’t. Ergo, it is important to allow our mind a break from anything else, so that the little things can come pouring into our memory.

Just before my meditation my wife came home from the store with a little surprise for me. She got me a bag of mixed nuts. It was such a thoughtful and tasty gift! It was a perfect penultimate pleasure prior to my meditation!

I am grateful for this lovely meditation. I loved the encouragement to savor the moments of gratitude and appreciation. When I think of savoring something, I think of really taking pause and appreciating the moment or circumstance. I also appreciated the gentle sounds of nature in the background, the babbling stream and the occasional birdsong. I realized how soothing that was to my overall experience.

I’ve been keeping a list of things that have happened lately that are wicked awesome. Writing them down and reflecting on them when I feel myself out of alignment has really helped. It can be small things like receiving a free week of yoga classes or paying attention to the dance of leaves as they fall from the trees. There is something to be grateful for and appreciate every day if we allow ourselves but a moment to recognize it. #levelUp #love&light

Tonight we walked circles in a stroller. When we would come to a bump I would lift the front wheel off the ground. My daughter would squeal with delight. Soon she was requesting wheelies. We played like this for most of the visit.

I used this mindfulness session because I’m feeling slightly overwhelmed at uni at the moment. This isn’t because I’m not working hard, but because I’ve just met a girl that I like, so I’m trying to get back to my balance where I can get work done and see her without feeling guilty that I should be working more. So much to be grateful for
It can be so easy to forget to be grateful and to appreciate the little things, but thanks to the wonderful guidance in this meditation (I did the 7minute version) I found so many things to focus on to be grateful for: meeting my new cousin and giving him a cuddle and remembering the amazing new baby smell and as he gazed upon the piercings in my face 😂 what wonder and curiosity of this new life. Then gratitude of going to my friends yesterday to be well enough to help her with simple things of laundry and making her a cup of tea but in return I got to have hugs with her and her son and play with her kitten. Then to think about the world in general and be grateful for where I live in relative safety but be so grateful for all the goodness that has been shown by people and charitable organisations during the recent bushfires ravaging Australia. My thoughts are with you all.

Focusing on Goodness
Every day we can at least find one thing to appreciate and be grateful for. Settling into a comfortable sitting position while focusing on my breath, Jiva’s soothing voice guides you to visualize a couple of moments where you felt gratitude. Yesterday, my husband left for a long weekend scuba trip which I am grateful for the peace and solitude I will experience for the next few days. Moments like these renew my spirit. In the evening, the weather was absolutely perfect to enjoy my dinner outside. I enjoyed watching the birds, listening to an owl, and watching the clouds float by in the sky. My mind was completely in the present moment. After dinner, I enjoyed a hot bath in our jacuzzi tub while reading a brain candy book. Experiencing moments like these I am truly grateful. When we focus on the good in our life as well as sharing our goodness with others, we see our life full of abundance. It shifts our focus from what is lacking to what is good. May you find many things to appreciate and be grateful for in your life today.
