Three things I notice
A helpful meditation. Love the title. Sometimes, I really need a formula for calming and centering the Mind; noticing three sensory perceptions helps me. Thank you. I will be returning to this meditation.

Self Awareness during Chaos
Using all of your senses to feel the world around you and switching the focus to your internal condition is such a calming technique. To me it was like feeling the chaos all around me in the world, but finding stillness inside myself. I'll definitely be saving this lesson for another time.

Freak out Formula
I learned that... Going through each sense, picking three things that you see, hear, feel, etc. , acknowledging and naming them, then letting them go allows me to relax for a moment. Become mindful. Then taking a deep breath of gratitude, maybe the concerns are easier to handle.

Oh To Be Alive
I love grounding meditations such as this. It is so helpful to be reminded of simple things, breath, touch, sight, smell, and how lucky we are to be able to experience it. It helped make life feel a little simpler and any current issues not feel so heavy. I am alive, I can breathe in the fresh air, see the beautiful things, smell delicious smells, and feel the wind fluttering around my body. I am alive.

Great tip- stop, breathe, sense 3 things with your eyes, name them, then repeat with your sense of hearing and sense of touch. Touch is an easy sense for me to forget, but important to appreciate and be mindful of. Really want to remember this the next time I start getting tweaky. Namaste

Stuck in recovery
As I lay here in week 4 of bed rest and feel frustrated at the constant battles of trying to find comfort. Trying to occupy my mind from the cast on my leg and how heavy the covers feel. The chill of the air. How each part of my body aches from not moving just being stuck. I’m reminded to look beyond my situation and to envision my freedom that will come in a few more weeks. To ignore the 4 walls and think about my family and friends. My pets who try to comfort me. To embrace the pain and know it’s not forever. Freedom and laughter will come back. I am always loved. I’m grateful for my husband and his constant care. To allow the little moments that surprise me to add change in my boring day. To love my friends and family and be happy for them as they go on with their daily lives. To know I am in a learning phase of my life so I can appreciate what is truly important. ❤️

Gratitude
I don’t take it in as much , but I know it’s there... lingering over my head. I don’t recognize it, I ignore it. I can’t see it (I don’t want to see it ) I don’t want to take it I’m. But I know I need to. I don’t appreciate my life to the fullest. I’m just ...... here. I’m not LIVING when I should be. I hope I’m making sense to myself. I hope that when I look back on this I’ll learn to take it in a bit more! Gratitude.... yes this .... this is what I need. This is what’s been holding me back this is what’s gotten in the way. I’ve lost the sense of it. I need to gain it back . I’ve got to find it. Or maybe it has to find me.

Freak out Formula
I am currently in a very stressful situation, one in which I have no control. While I cannot control what is happening I can try to control how I handle this set back and anxious time. I typically dissociate and then panic later. While this meditation didn’t solve all my problems, it did ground me, which I am grateful for. We can’t control everything but we do have control in taking care of ourself in a multitude of ways.

Moment to moment
A very helpful meditation. Ive become good at carving a space for myself in my room at night and in the morning for practice. But i am often stressed or anxious out in the world and need a way to re center. "Mindfulness is being in the moment to moment" - working on gratefully and forgivingly letting go of the past and calmly placing aside the future to focus on the moment I'm in. Come back to the room and acknowledge your place here: a space for me. Come back to life and acknowledge your place here: also a space for me.

Calming down, mindfully
In the midst of an anxiety attack or hours of feeling overwhelmed, I forget that I am capable of calming myself down. I forget that simply sitting down and noticing and acknowledging how I feel is often more than enough to calm me down. I might not be completely at peace, but the goal for me recently has been to practice self-soothing when I am experiencing intense emotions. The goal isn’t to be at peace all the time; that’s unrealistic for me. The goal is to self-soothe so I can spend less time ruminating and more time moving forward.

Notice through senses
Had such a bad day today. Wasn’t able to eat, come out of bed or even take a shower. This mindful session made me use my senses, what I was feeling here and now. My mind came at ease a bit. I’m grateful that I survived today. Sometimes when you’ve only managed the day, it should be more than enough. Remember yourself that it is truly enough. Name it. Believe it. 🌻

Letting go formula 🤔💨
Becoming aware of specific things around me, thinking about them, then letting go of them, along with the focus on breathing at the beginning and end of this session helped me clear my mind of something that’s been on my mind a lot lately. breathing
this helped me so much with just reminding myself to breathe. we get so caught up in responsibilities and every day tasks and chores that we forget to slow down and breathe. it's so nice to be able to just concentrate on breathing in and out and appreciating the mindfulness and the peace that comes with it. with any daily stress just take a minute or two and just focus on your breathing to ground yourself again to move forward with a more relaxed state.

The three check list strategies
This is a very interesting formula to practice when you're frustrated. Using your three senses (eyes, ears, touch) before you freakout with a reaction. It is helpful in understanding the root cause of the actions in one of the few things that's irritating then letting it go by returning to your breathing.

I feel like I can actually focus on something else other than what I'm feeling and the things going on around me. I just recently went through a really bad break up because the girl I was with said that she just couldn't love me the way that I love her. I got her a promise ring a week before and the night she broke up with me we had just gone on our first date that morning. I cried my eyes out for over 16 hours and got no sleep what so ever. I couldn't eat because every time I tried I just got sick. Every time I laid in my bed I would just cry because it's not the same without her. We use to sleep on the phone together every night and that's the only way either of us could sleep. I'm still hoping she can figure out how to love me because I still completely love her and I'd take her back in a heartbeat. This app really helps out though. I'm glad I found it at a time like this. The only way I can sleep now is by using the rain and thunder music.

Freakout
I have a tendency to freakout when hurtful thoughts of the past come up and then I use that as fuel imagining scenarios for disastrous future outcomes. This freakout formula brings me back to the present, reminds me I don’t live in the past anymore and that things are different now. I go back and forth with this because that’s how my human mind works. I’m also really impatient waiting on what I want to manifest. But I’m getting better at predominantly staying in the NOW using these helpful mindful techniques. I trust the process. I trust the Universe!

It reminded me of CBT skills I learned when I was younger
I went through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy when I was I young adult. Both teach you coping skills (when you grew up like I did, no one around me knew them; never mind taught them!) But in both CBT and DBT coming back to at least three of your five senses when you are in “unwise mind” or as this meditation calls it a freak out— helps pull you back into the present moment. Which is what this did for me. If any of you are struggling with coping skills I highly recommend finding a DBT counselor in your area. DBT actually incorporates mindfulness as one of their modules. I struggled with it while I was there but I am glad to be doing it better now.

For those freakout moments
I have definitely had a few freak out moments in the past week or so. This is a nice technique for coming back to the present. Since becoming older chronically ill and confined to my bedroom freak out moments have become more frequent. I suppose it is the stress of living with illness. Small challenges can seem like mountains. Anyway I don’t let these moments take hold and I consider the illness as an opportunity to grow. The illness forces me to be mindful. 🌸

Day 34
This was very effective. I do tend to have little “freak outs” through out the day. Maybe not such a intense meaning but little.. Stress attacks. What I do is start to spiral and stress and think so negatively. I get to the point where I just go somewhere and have to literally say STOP in my head and out loud. The first dag
Lately I’ve been feeling low and not really letting anyone know because I don’t want them to worry. Somehow I know I’ll be ok. Today this morning I remembered about meditation and how I haven’t done it so I came here. I realized that while listening to this session my mind forgot everything else I was thinking for three minutes. I focused on myself and became grateful of my senses and how I’m lucky to have them. They are all I need to live a long lasting life. I hope today is a good day for it should be a great week. Ok update every morning.

I learned by seeing, listening, and feeling what’s around me. What’s in my space. I notice how my body slowly started to calm down, but also bring myself to awareness of MY room is clean now. MY room is a little stuffy, but that’s ok. I WILL BE OK. My room is clean! This air is fresh! I will be ok. And helping myself calm down is working. Slowly, but it’s working.

freak out moments

I learned that we need to stop and think about how others see us I want to help us and can’t I also learned that other people that look like they do not care some people actually do cara others do not they only want to profit off of the benefits of doing things to try to help you but they really don’t want to Sam is a blessing in the sky it’s hard to see sometimes that. Bert if you stop him think about it think about the three things did you need help with someone will pulling out one area needs to be adjusted in your life and then someone will come to help you just don’t be afraid to ask for help and not in a panicky way either or a way that doesn’t seem like yourself or acting like you do not know what you did just come clean and asked for help no one will judge you at all.

Senses
Focusing on the senses and what we can observe as a fact with our sight, hearing, and touch (as well as taste and smell) detracts from what we may be jnferencimg in our mind. “I’m not likeable” “I’m making a fool of myself” “I’m sure they’re laughing at me”. These are all harmful inferences that our brain makes and we need to step past them into what is true and we can observe in order to remove their power.
