Focus the breath, focus the mind

A wonderful tool
"We (every one of us) have a wonderful tool for working with the waves of life" - and our guide in this meditation has a lovely, mellifluous voice that gently reminds us to use it. "Breathe, pause at the top of the inhale ..." Yes. A wonderful tool. Overlooked sometimes because it seems too simple. But the best tools are. May your day out on the ocean of life be a lovely one 🙂

Day 7
This one may have been my favorite so far. It made me feel less pressure, and reminded me that I have to go with the flow. This meditation let me know that the waves in my mind and life are a completely normal part of my human experience. It made it seem less scary or as big of a problem when seen in that light.

Windstorms of the mind
I love these meditations because they remind me that what I'm experiencing day to day is. not. unique. to. me. I've made that point before but it is so easy to forget. Our minds are like the surface of the ocean: sometimes calm, sometimes turbulent. Everyone's mind works that way. So long as you steady your focus (by means of the breath) you can steady your mind and find your way to more calm waters.

Don't think about sad
When you are sad take a deep breath and count to 10 open your eyes and stop thinking about what happened and start thinking about what you can do to stop how do you feel.so go to something that makes you feel calm and be happy because there are a lot of things in the world that you can do instead of being sad.

Navigating the External/Internal Ocean
I realized that the real art in life is about navigating the external/internal ocean. So much is beyond our control, and yet we can learn skills for navigating the waves by our presence and tending to our breath. Our breath is the wheel of our ship. Let's sail!

⚓️🌊
My mind is like the open sea. It is deep, full of the unexpected, and times can be incredibly violent. The winds of life often cause much turbulence stirring up many waves that want to suck me under. I often struggle with succumbing to the weight of the undertow, but somehow I always seem to find myself weathering the storm and emerging to the surface stronger than before. I am slowly learning to surf the waves that come in efforts to stay above water and reach that calm glass surface where I can just float.

Winds of life
I learned that the winds of life, which blow in the mind, heart, and soul, cannot be tamed or controlled any more than the winds of nature blowing across a vast lake. The ripples created by both types of wind are ripples felt by the spirit and flesh alike. What we can control, however, is out internal perception of them, and mindfulness of the reality that there just is wind in life is the starting point.

It's challenging, frustrating even when you're trying to relax & just focus the mind. But yet it seems as if the negative thoughts constantly beats you up with no remorse. Today the breath was uneven
When I wake up I like to meditate. I learned this morning that there are days when breathing deeply and slowly, pausing at the end of each in breath and out breath, is more difficult, and I get bothered and anxious. My normal asthmatic breathing is shallow and rapid. Aah. Accept my body’s breathing and relax.

Day two: focusing the breath focusses the mind
Steady the breath and the mind will follow. Things to do, people to see, and places to be. All make the ocean of thoughts in our mind. Some things are soft calm waves, and some things are terrifying tsunamis. Breathing deeply and calming yourself helps with dealing with both things. Control your ocean. You are its creator. You have the power to let the tsunami overtake and drown you. Or you have the power to let the smaller waves drift you off at sea. Make your ocean still and calm so you can relax and enjoy life. Steady the breath and the mind will follow.

Focus the Breath, Focus the Mind
I love the analogy of life as waves rolling in on the ocean; sometimes steady, sometimes turbulent, crashing into shore. I also loved the analogy of the windstorms of life, perhaps more so today because we’re under a weather advisory for damaging winds tonight. That said, as much as I connected with the analogies, my mind galloped back to an incident that happened earlier in the day, and as I breathed in and out like the ebb and flow of the waves, I felt my ire being fanned with each breath. This doesn’t typically happen to me. Typically I am calmed and focused on breathing.

Comparing breath to ocean waves 🌊
The waves of my breath are connected to my mind and breathing is so important in staying calm and focused. Being under a lot of stress causes me to lose my focus and sometimes clarity, which is very important to get things accomplished. I like the idea of comparing my breathing to ocean waves, big stormy waves crashing down flooding my mind with chaos, small choppy waves creating distractions and calm soft waves breaking on the shore gives me much needed peace of mind, calmness, happiness and many other pleasant experiences. Thanks Aura for giving me this perspective on breath and mind to practice whenever I’m challenged with stressful situations in life.🙏

Mind like an Ocean
Prior to starting the guided meditation I was attempting to meditate on my own. I visualized myself somewhere deep in the ocean, underwater. I felt my thoughts drowning me. Often times I acknowledge that I’m stressed and need to breathe but I keep pushing right through what is stressing me and don’t take the time to do it. Great way to start the day
This was a great little reminder of the importance of focusing on the breath. As soon as our thoughts become too much it takes control of our breathing. By getting back in control of our breathing we too take back control of our mind. Although I know this technique, I feel sometimes I can become complacent and don’t push myself to do things that make me feel uncomfortable in fear of feeling all those emotions/ physical symptoms associated with anxiety. I still live my life day to day doing what I have to do, but I do it the way I want to and sometimes that may be taking shortcuts to avoid any discomfort. I need to start pushing myself more to do the things that make me feel uncomfortable and remember this technique so I can get through it, opening me up to move avenues in my life rather than allowing myself to stay comfortable in this new world I have created for myself.

Focus the Breath, Focus the Mind
I learned that we need to think of our life and our mind/thoughts just like the waves of the ocean. I loved this comparison or enology. There is nothing we can do about the pace or the waves.. we need to learn to embrace them. Sometimes they can be heave and intense, other times there is peace and calm, stillness other times it’s a little storm.. just as the waves the same goes for our life and our mind. It’s not what is happening it’s how we deal with it and manage it. We have to ride through it and make the most out of it. The more we practice mindfulness the easier it will become to not let things effect us and we will be able to control and handle the big storms when the arise. Namaste 😌🙌🏼

Waves of the mind
Like the ocean, our mind will experience times of calmness and turbulence yet, it is all related to our breathe. Bringing awareness to our breathe in these turbulent times can help bring peace and tranquility. You can choose your relationship with the waves.

A visual for breathing
Imagine the wind as your breath and the waves as your emotions. When you calm the winds by creating calm deep breaths, you regulate your emotions and create a clear, peaceful mind.

March 1
I learned that I am naturally a care taker, and it feels unnatural for people to willingly want to take care of me. In order for me to heal, I must show myself grace and allow unconditional love to enter my life in every way possible.

Mind breath connection
There is a direct relationship between the how calm The mind is, and how relaxed the breathing is . It is impossible to control external circumstances or what your mind thinks about. However, by controlling the Breathing, I can relax my mind. This Will help to change my perspective on external circumstances .
