So easy to forget my strength
I am always so focused outward that I sometimes begin to lose my moorings, lose myself. I have been physically and emotionally sick for the last week so the simple act of standing strong felt like a revelation. I do have the strength to live this life and live it well.

Posture is something we often forget and take for granted. But, the reality of how powerful is feeling ourselves well supported, it's amazing! Being aware of our body and of our spirit; the two main things that are present (and in the presence) of this right moment, now!

I learned how easy it is to forget to take time to appreciate myself and give in to trappings that my self-worth should be based on some type of external validation. Before this meditation I was feeling guilty for asking for a certain salary amount in a job application I recently filled. Something happened during the meditation, that guilt faded away and replaced with confidence.

Our true nature allows for the validity of existence. Without the push and pull of the world around us we cannot have a purpose. Rolling with the tides is necessary, but we will prevail.

Earth and inner connection with self
I felt so grounded and connected to the earth and my inner self. It took me a while to get settled and my mind kept drifting to other thoughts and coming back to focus. I took some deep breaths towards the end and that brought me back. I think I will repeat this session now that most of the thoughts are at ease.

I choose the longer version for my second session and I enjoyed it so much. I feel the strength of my body and the connection between my body and the earth. I could see my myself standing on a cliff or mountain it was a high rock formation. I felt grounded to the formation with a panoramic view of other rock formations. With my hands stretched out I felt that I do matter to this world. Very peaceful.

Looking forward to visiting a Shinto shrine and Buddhist temple here in Japan and learning from these ancient cultures. I am exited to be able to meditate and connecting at these sacred places, hopefully I will be able to share some photos next week. 🙏

I found this meditation a lot harder to focus on and get lost in. My mind drifted a lot to other things. However it was nice to envision my place in the world and how important and special it was, and good to set an intention for the day and give myself a feeling of purpose.

Not sure how the passive reality of the pull of gravity is supposed to lift my mood. Better meditation is for me to focus on the God who placed me in this planet and made it so that I don’t fly off this orb. He has a better plan for me than that.

Feeling grounded, having a firm foundation with our interconnection with Earth is so vital for our overall well-being. In this meditation, we feel the weight of our body on the Earth and in doing so, we have the opportunity to feel our strength in the sacred space we take up. Getting settled, I felt the weight of my body on this chair. Underneath this cushion, the wheels of this chair are firmly planted on the wood and the wood is firmly planted on the ground below. As my weight is being pulled to the Earth, the Earth pushes back. This constant push-pull creates a sacred space for me to feel my worthiness. Wherever I go, there I am within a sacred space, always being supported by the Earth, where I can feel my strength. Namaste 🙏🏻❤️☮️

Taking up space
In the past I have felt the overwhelming sensation to take up as little space as possible. I used to believe, the less space I take up the better. I didn’t want to be seen and if I could blend and melt into the background I would. I have slowly felt more comfortable taking up space and this meditation is a good reminder that you are important, so take up that well deserved space. Allow yourself to feel the earth and air around you and accept the fact that all the space you take up is not a burden but a beautiful design. The space you take up is you and you are worth it.
