When thoughts of people prevent us from falling asleep, it's easy to become entangled in our emotional reactions, leading to sleeplessness and mental distraction. However, by engaging in a visualization exercise that involves connecting with the person in question and synchronizing our breaths while consciously breathing slowly, we can effectively shift our focus from the mind to the sensations in our body. This process facilitates relaxation and enables us to detach from racing thoughts. Additionally, we have the opportunity to cultivate a sense of kindness and compassion by directing loving phrases toward them. This practice not only promotes a state of calm and serenity but also fosters increased awareness of benevolence and empathy.
