Enjoy an Attention Restoration Meditation at least every 90 minutes at work. Give your mind a self-compassion break so that you can resume work with renewed focus. Put aside the time needed to be fully with this meditation and use earphones so that you can block out noise in your environment. After enjoying the meditation, give yourself a few moments to sit and simply “be.” Nature sounds and image courtesy of listeningearth.com.

Cross cultural communication
Two melodic songbirds join together to bring peace, relaxation, and focus to the world. Each speaks their own language beautifully. Each has strong cultural beliefs and traditions. Each one seeks to understand before being understood. Each compromise based upon shared values. To do anything less would be short-sighted. Love conquers all.

Distant Waters with Robin and Wren
The sounds of nature can be quite soothing and restorative. All we need to do is be still and listen. Stillness in itself is gift. When I take the time to sit and be still, I often realize how tired I am and in need of rest.

Nature is freakin’ awesome
In nature, there’s a sound for everyone to relax and listen to, whether it’s the roaring waterfalls or the gentle droplets of rain as well as the waves of the beach or the sound of life in the woods. You can pretty much find these sounds available to you anywhere, whether it’s in the Aura app or on YouTube.

Learning mindfulness (again)
I learned that i need to focus again more on mindfulness. My thoughts kept drifting off, but the sounds of nature helped me calm down and relax.

Nature meditation
Ever since finding Dan Gibson’s “Harmony” I have enjoyed nature sounds. I find the sounds very relaxing and easy to meditate too. Nice before bed.

Awesome
Peaceful, mind clearing, soothing, forgiving, loving. Just a few words to describe this 7 minutes of pure delight. My only distraction was waiting for the little wren to make that chirp that only she can make. 🙏

Coming Home
Listening to these birds is like coming home. So much love for the winged ones who send music through the air.

My first session with nature sounds
I’ve read other’s reflections of sessions with nature sounds, and have listened to the baked in sound files in the app, but I found that a session without guidance really isn’t my cup of tea. I was easily distracted, even with earbuds in. And didn’t do much with the time. 😢I’m sorry, and will likely skip these sessions in the future, as it didn’t do what I’ve come to expect and enjoy about my time here in Aura...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Be at peace
Nature and the many sounds it provides helps me ease into a sense of peace. It’s peaceful to listen to and by listening I started visualization being in nature and how the sunlight would be in my perfect peaceful spot in nature. I didn’t shut off my thoughts I just refocused them onto creating a peaceful place in nature.

Serenity
I learned that I can be at peace and be as one with the sound of nature. With busy days, you often forget that there's a world out there too. The sound of birds, clean Air, crisp waters. It's out there.

Beautiful
I love sitting in nature and hearing the sounds of birds or water, the sound of crickets is lovely too. The general hum of life that allows me to release tension and smile. With the days getting shorter and colder, I haven't been able to do that very much so this was lovely!

You have the power
I can slow my reactions and act in a different manner because no one else has power over my responses to situations. If I slow my breath and relax then I realize that only I am responsible for my actions and reactions and I can grow from this point.

Too soon
I am not ready for unguided meditations. My mind was all over the place and my internal monologue soon drowned out the peaceful birdsong. But I'm only on day 5.

I learned that peace and harmony come to us from nature. Time is a healer but nature is a restorer. Find your happy place and renew yourself. 💚

3 minute break
I learned that I️ need to take more action toward what I’m passionate about. I’m a cereal thinker and it stalls my ability to take action by instead opting to take on a plethora of information. It’s time to become more conscientious and push myself to act more than think. Though, thinking is a great quality and being a natural introverted intuitive person has its upside, I️ need to act.

Grounding force of nature...
It’s been very helpful throughout the day to have access to the essentials that often get lost in our frenetic lifestyles. The essentials being what brought us all in to being, sustains us during our time on this planet and that to which we ultimately return. Nature for me brings such peace because it reminds me of what truly matters, a more peaceful way of living in tune with what “is.”

That was definitely a challenge. I did my best & will continue doing my best & hope to be able to truly calm my mind, with daily practice. This app is my comfort at the moment. Here’s to peace of mind through daily practice✌🏻

Bird calls
This was a little challenging because throughout it, my biology mind was wondering what the different calls were for. It was still soothing and maybe with more practice, I won’t focus so much about the nature of the animal noises but just find it soothing as noise.

Birds
I really enjoyed the sounds of nature. The birds and rain were so peaceful. I have not had a lot of peace the last six months. So I am grateful for every moment I get.....Thanks God

Eh...
I've got a nature sound app that I use occasionally for background noise. Would've appreciated more of a guided meditation in addition to the sounds of water.

Day Four
I learned that I prefer a more guided aspect to meditation instead of peaceful nature sounds.
A
Allen
Mental Space
I noticed that I like having more of my own mental space while meditating as opposed to the sometimes crowding demands for attention during more guided meditations. Not that I don’t value guided meditations, it’s just that I value those more which allow space to conceive the guidance before guiding again. In word: longer pauses. This meditation was one long pause with much to direct one’s focus. Peaceful. Thank you.

Nature
Just 3 minutes of nature sounds was able to take me to my happy place, where I could smell, hear and feel all the beauty that nature has for us. The time flew by. I thought I preferred to always have a guided meditation so this really surprised me.

Sound
Sometimes I like the white noise more than the guided sessions. It gives me a minute to relax instead of listening to the voiceover’s instructions.
M
Matt
Ambient noise
Natural sounds are hard for me to focus on solely. It is necessary for a good meditation for me to focus on something that is controlled. Also, I am fairly judgmental about my meditation methods and need to get away from that

Sounds of silence.
Sounds of nature can really bring me back to better mindfulness.

Idk
I need a quieter and more relaxed environment to meditate in. Spend more time focusing on my meditation instead of quieting my thoughts. I need to learn control of my breathing and not let my breathing control me

If you just take a moment in your day to relax it can really help you collect your thoughts and move on throughout the day peacefully. Even something as simple as listening to nature.

Cleansing...
I learned that different sounds can affect different parts of me: The ‘white noise’ of the constant bubbling brook felt like it was coming in my ears & washing down thru my body ...neck, shoulders, chest, ribs and trickling downward thru my organs into my legs. Scrubbing my cells clean and rinsing them off as it works it’s way thru my body. Then the wren starts to clear out my head of unused, old spider webby thought & ideas, leftover wishes & used up old brain cells... Meanwhile Ms. robin red breast uses her wings to fluffel up my heart to make sure there’s no dust in it and shakes her tail feather to polish it up until it’s shiny & radiating clean love again... 💖 Ahhhh... I Absolutely LOVE this app! Thanks again Aura & my fellow Auraians for letting me share with you! ❤️✌🏼

That I need to enjoy nature more. It is all around me and it really is a relaxing thing if you let it be. Putting the phone down and listening and looking can be so calming. I didn’t get to actually see anything but i was able to imagine what it would look like with my eyes closed.

What I have learn.
I have learn that I just need to take my time sometimes to focus and the small things we over look. Just like the beautiful sounds of nature that we normally tune out with out chaotic lives. Every day just take a second to slow down your life and enjoy it.

I wasn’t ready
Today in particular has been very anxious and nerve wrecking and I’m very upset, I got a second to myself thinking I’s have someone to guide me to calmness but I didn’t have that. I’m sure this works for someone and perhaps in time it’ll be me but right now, this isn’t what i needed.

Horrible “Meditation”
This was hardly a guided meditation and sounded more like a bird exhibit in a zoo rather than real nature sounds.

Waking up with a pounding heart.
Last night I dreamt of buying the furniture my stepdad had bought me, in an attempt to blackmail me into becoming his sexual partner. I was 17. I realize the dream was telling me I put too much worth on the bullshit experiences I had as a child. I overpaid them and they were smug. I woke with an anxious heart. I remembered to meditate and self soothes with my own calming story. In my story, I was in a lush forest. There was a toucan who offered me a magical fruit—-it would grant me the gift of joy! I ate the fruit and I was filled with joy. The sun seemed warmer and the colors brighter. This was my forest; my mind and i was in control.

Stress
Noise pollution, like TV, don’t reduce stress so much as force it to get shoved into the background. There is grows like a weed until it’s too big to be ignored. And by that point it feels unmanageable.
