A Bright, Shiny Day 11-7-17
I learned that mindfulness is important. Taking what is inside you and focusing is just as important as what is on the outside. Also, don’t forget breathing techniques. I found myself thinking about the woes of family, friends and all my acquaintances here on Aura. There are so many of you I care about and I converse with. This too, helps me. By the way, my tooth is doing much better for those who know what has been going on. I wish you all a happy day. Thank you, Aura!

I can choose my own thoughts. I can choose kind thoughts about myself and others. My heart is full of love and I try to follow kindness and try to shut of the negative self talk. It’s there- it’s always there. I have a choice. I have always had the choice... very interesting discovery- but am I able to do it. As a counselor I speak freely of these things but when it comes to myself- somehow I am excluded from being kind to. I need to be kinder to myself and love myself- yeah- nice meditation thank you.

My Desires
I learned in this meditation moment, that things as they are, it’s ok to not know how to fix it. To let things be but it will work out. The scripture that comes to mind is.. Is making our intentions known to God and with prayer and supplication they will be added to us. It’s ok to not know, but it will be fine and God will give us all that we need AND desire if we just give it to Him!!!

Expectations
I was expecting a 3 minute practice as that’s the only option I’ve ever had for my one freebie per day. This turned out to be 7 minutes & as I was short on time my focus was on the extra time this would take instead of being mindful. On top of that I couldn’t connect with this exercise. Oh well, I’m still grateful to be doing mindfulness practice daily. I just wanna work on not letting expectations taking away from the present moment.

In this spacious awareness, I am aware of both dogs snoring as loud as any creatures ever have. They must be quite soothed in their deep breathing.

Turned off the air purifier, the humidifier, the radio and television are both off. I can hear the wall clock counting off seconds, the refrigerator humming. Outside there is silence. My breathing slows, keeping time with the clock. Peaceful.

While doing this meditation I was very tired so I wasn’t able to pay much attention to what they were saying. But what I got from it was that ; You can let things go ( the negative / bad things) but if your not able to that’s okay .

Frustrated and confused
The wording gave me problems. I could feel myself scowling as I tried to figure out what she was wanting me to do. This was not relaxing for me at all.

Letting go is hard
For so long ive held grudges and negativity. It makes it difficult to just, relax. My first experience was painful. It was nice, but my body wanted to go in all sorts of directions. Anxiety built up because I cant let go and just be. Ill try.
