Whichever thoughts we are having in our mind has the capacity to positively or negatively affect our body. In this beautiful meditation, Jiva has us recall and relive pleasant memories which brought us happiness and joy and then we rest and explore how those feelings affect our body.
I just finished my very first retreat. Regardless that it was an online retreat, it was such an incredible experience that I will never forget. While there were many memories that brought happiness and joy to my heart, there is one in particular that truly touched my soul. It was the evening of New Year’s Eve and my Sangha or community spread metta or loving kindness to one another while holding candles. Reliving those precious moments I feel the amazing connection I felt with everyone. It truly was a special way to bring in this new year. Allowing that beautiful memory to fade, I introduced another beautiful memory which brought me happiness and joy. Every night when I lay down on my bed to go asleep, my orange tabby cats come over and lay down between my legs and chest. As they purr, I feel their body breathing with mine. It is such a wonderful connection between three beings.
After reliving those memories, my heart is filled with a warmth of love and light. As my heart swelled with love and light, my lips formed into a smile. Savoring these beautiful memories, I have immense gratitude for having the opportunity to have had these precious moments in my life. Thank you, Jiva! Namaste 🙏🏻❤️☮️
