Our conditioned habit of resisting life's moments (including our own selves) is the source of much of our stress & suffering. Thus, acceptance is one of the foundational attitudes of mindfulness allowing us to meet ourselves & each other as we are. In cultivating acceptance, we put the welcome matt out for the soul to be free. Let's do this!

Cultivating Acceptance
When I take the time to scan my whole body, I realize that there are so many sensations and feelings (body and mind) that are usually in the background during my day. The common phrase "it is what it is" could mean "i don't care" to many. I choose to think of it as an opportunity to acknowledge, understand and then accept it. This meditation brings that to the forefront.

Today
Life’s too precious and it’s sudden changes happen instantly without empathy or love. Love each moment well. Even in bad times cling to faith and life.

Acceptance
I have learned that allowing myself to accept where I am at, how I am feeling is key in letting my body heal. Not judging just letting it be and take it one slow breath at a time.

Feeling is Healing!
I love that phrase that was used - feeling is healing. So often I don't want to feel the negative stuff, so I resist or ignore it. It's a good reminder to suspend judgment on emotions and just acknowledge them for what they are.

Something new but old
I'm use to acknowledge but it was a bit difficult this time around. I think because I have a lot of mixed emotion. But I'll always remember that welcome mat. I loved this session.

Cultivating Acceptance
It’s a practice that I think I’ve always done. But being more aware about it and acknowledging this practice makes me appreciate my emotions, good and bad. And appreciate myself, good and bad.

I learned that
despite my expectations, mindfulness is not just about training the mind to be something it’s not. It is also about acknowledging accepting how we are in the present moment, and giving some form of validation to that.

Accepting the mind
I learned it is possible to be judgemental about my thoughts but that it is also possible to cultivate an acceptance of even that judgment.
