The breath is our best friend in mindfulness - but it's often not easy to keep the mind there. Adding soft counting can really help to keep the mind gently focused and not straying off.

Calming things down
Being able to calm things down just for a moment, the count of ten breaths, can often feel like such a gift when things feel hectic. A small space to give ourselves room to breathe which is much needed.

Counting The In Nreath
Such an easy way to be calm and focused. My mind was running all over the place with plans and worries but it became peaceful when I counted. Thank you.

Being present
I like the explanation that counting is not the point of the exercise but a tool to remain present for long enough to reap benefits. Namaste

10 Seconds Away from Peace
When we were young, we were taught to count sheep or “bottles on the wall” to fall asleep or pass the time. Both of which keep us from the present moment. A distraction even. We lost that sentiment as an adult. How ironic that counting something as constant and consistent as our breath allows us to stay present. Grounds us. Anchors us. It’s been there for us all along. A constant reminder that we’re 10 seconds away from peace.

Automatic breathing
I learned that it's nice to have someone there to just be a positive source of influence to help you breathe and feel safe. Calm really stems from having the right support.

Just the start
I learned that taking a minute can help you focus more. Taking time to gather your thoughts.

Exhale
I cannot ensure that my son follows all safety precautions we have worked to instill in him to ready himself for his first day of school tomorrow, I can pray and breathe through the moment at drop off and exhale when I pick him up!
