Using quiet counting can be really helpful to keep the mind on the breath, and gain the calming, soothing effect of staying with the breath. Counting gives the mind a bit more to do so it makes it a bit easier - and it doesn't matter a bit if you only get to 2, just start again!

Counting the Breath
I discovered that counting the breath is actually distracting for me. I become much calmer and centered by simply focusing on my breathing.

Getting better
At first, I felt like her voice was kinda too fast for me but this feeling got away. I really liked the counting at the end of every exhale, it helped me to stay focused on each and every breath, so that my mind won’t wander.

After this short meditation I felt somehow relieved.
I learned that a shift of attention can lead to a reduction of negative thoughts and worries.

Anxiety Returning
I’ve been very anxious lately, and I felt a respite for the brief three minutes that I was meditating, normally I can carry over this respite into my day, but all of my anxiety floods back when I open my eyes. I’m not sure what to do.

Need to remember
The breath is always there. The breath, and the moment. If that’s all I remember, that is quite a lot!

Day 17
I’ve never tried counting the number of breaths I’ve taken. I’ve measured the length of my inhalations and exhalations in seconds but this is the first time I’ve counted to ten and then started over. I came into this exercise very angry so I’ll probably continue it for awhile now that I’m done.

Counting breaths
I needed this one tonight. I’m feeling physically yucky and that always makes me anxious. It was also my last day at work with wrap-up meetings. Good that it was my last day, but still stressful. Counting is always good to me.

I am enough
As a human being, I am not measured by my level of production. I am simply enough for living. I am worthy of love and kindness because I am human. My worth is not based upon my accomplishments. When I believe these things boundaries are easier to set and my confidence rises.

Calming
Most people tell me when I get anxiety to calm down. But I never really knew how to calm down. This showed me a way that I can do anytime, even when I'm trying to sleep, or during class time.

I'm impatient. I have to be patient.
I think the main reason why I give up on getting better for myself it's because I am too impatient. I want results right away. I want things done immediately. Life as far as I've learned is a series of events that require patience. We can't have things our way immediately. We have to work hard for things. It doesn't always happen overnight. I have to keep reminding myself to be patient. Comfort myself when I feel like I'm slipping out. Do not blame myself when the things that I needed to happen don't happen right away. Take care of myself when I'm feeling like giving up. Praise myself when I do a good job. Patience is a virtue that I should learn. I have to be patient. Let's start from there.

Your breath is always there for you no matter what as a support system. It’s ok to stop for a minute and just focus on your breathing to relieve stress.

Love the breath...
This is the BEST 🎉 meditation to remind one on the simplicity of focused breathing and its beneficial nature to the mind, spirit, and soul. No matter what 💩 is hitting the fan in life, or pain being felt in the old body, nor the sliding status of the mindset, focusing on the breath CAN and WILL give an opportunity to get out of oneself to see the beauty that is everywhere, those less fortunate, and appreciative of the joy others impart toward you. Just have to 🛑 and breathe my Brother and Sister

It felt good...
...to deep breathe first thing in the morning and to get comfortable and do a little light stretching. I'm about to go into a four hour CPR first aid AED class so getting centered and getting in my mind in a positive space is good way to start this day. In Joy. 🌈💗☮️

Counting my breathing to calm my nerves worked because I’m distracted from thinking negative thoughts. Numbers are organized and counting helps to make everything more stable

Time going by
I observed that when I focus simply on counting my breath, time passes on around me without my notice. Worries fall by the wayside. To-so lists and agendas are distant. Only after I take care of myself can I do anything else properly.

Counting The Breath To Calm The Mind
I liked the anchor that the counting provided. It was also nice that the counting was just a reminder and to begin again when the mind wandered. It is wonderful to be reminded that mediation is a practice

Nice to couple with “gratefulness “
Yesterday I did a similar meditation that used saying “thank you” with the in and out breaths. I coupled it with this one and counted my “thank you”s...it was nice to know I sent purposeful “grateful” energy I sent into the world from the very beginning of my day. Also, I took inventory of my energy prior to starting this meditation—my breathing was a little choppy, anxious, because I am currently under a deadline. I focused on slowing my breathing and mind down, to become in-tune with the stream of wellness and calmness available to us all. I felt an immediate release with this exercise and feel ready for my day. Thank you for this:)

Even when the mind wanders during mindfulness you can still feel relaxed. It’s amazing how something simple like counting breaths can help you to relax.

Counting the breath to calm the mind
Counting my breaths up to ten on the exhale kept me present and focused on my breathing. It helped me to know I didn’t have to worry if I lost count, just start over at one; and that the end of the exhale is when the mind tends to wander, so immediately after the exhale, I switched my focus to breathing in white healing light to fill my body, and then went back to counting on the exhale. This worked really well for me. Thank you.

Nice Introduction to Counting Breaths
Masheder’s voice is gentle, lilting, and calming, though a little too quiet in this meditation. This is a nice introductory counting breaths meditation. Masheder gives enough instruction but also enough practice time for beginners.

Breathe Support
Breathe can serve as a support for our attention. I enjoyed counting after each breathe and it was easier for me to stay focused than to let my mind wander because I needed to focus on the next number. The numbers are not a competition but rather a support or guide to keep us focused on our breathing.

Counting breath
I am grateful for all in my life. My family, my spouse, my own life. I sometimes get caught up in small details and can make them a big deal. I pray after my meditation as well.
