Counting Your Breath
I loved this meditation! When we are stressed about an upcoming test, rushing to work, or staying up late doing paperwork or homework and not getting enough sleep (just to name a few), we keep ourselves from observing that we need to take time to regain ourselves before continuing. This meditation teaches us to settle our thoughts by counting our breath, which brings us back to the present moment and releases stress and anger. If we just take time to count our breath, something that may be easy or may take more concentration, it helps us gain a calm and peaceful mood, which therefore helps to get things done— whether it be grading papers after a long day of teaching, or writing an important email to a colleague— in a content way that helps maximize our time spent on these activities. Sometimes, a bit of concentration and awareness can make a huge difference in what you do! 👩🏼🎓🧘🏼♀️📝⛅️
